No one cares. Every single fanbase does this.
Show me all those others threads (not polls) created about a prospect producing more than another prospect. I'll wait. Bonus point if you can find one that was created when neither prospect was even halfway into the season.

My other issue is his point totals to date. Too many goals, not enough assists to translate well to the NHL, in my opinion.

As the season progresses I will hope to see more creativity making the four guys around him more productive.

With his weakish shot, I'm thinking he will not be a strong NHL goal scorer. To fulfill his potential, which is high for sure, he will need to be an elite assist generator at the NHL level. If he can do that, I am not too worried about the defending side of the game, as he has always had good +/- numbers so I trust his instincts and he could be paired with a big partner who is strong defensively.
I thought that was sarcasm until you started defending your point... wtf lol the kid is a passing beast, one of the best i've seen. He always use is teamates but they just don't finish.

Did you watch the many full game 20min videos of him ?

He actually could have 20 points already without choking teamates, many posts and epic saves.

yeah when I read the 'too many goals' post I thought it was satire lol.

Ny...Childish.

It's childish.
Childish to some. Good natured fun to others.

Actually, our boy is doing quite well over in that thread on a debate of more valuable. 18-10 for Cooley. Time (lots of it) will tell if Hutson turns out the better player.

Kid is having a great season, but seriously will his size work in the NHL?

no one knows, we'll just have to wait and see, but having seen all but the last game (it was on ESPNU not ESPN+ so I missed it), there's no doubt in my mind he plays in the NHL, but we'll see how it goes since he has a number of things to work on first, like adding mass and strength, his odd skating where he moves his hands back and forth, I think that should be fixed as it seems like wasted energy.

No, it’s pretty childish.

It was started simply to troll, based off of a flippant comment, that you followed through on. There was no point in it other than to be a dink, which by all means is your call, but don’t be surprised when people get sour or don’t find it to be in good taste.

The point was to have a little fun. It has generated some healthy discussion. Not only do I visit and post on HF for information and to share opinions on all things hockey. I also like to have fun. Hence the gif thread I started in the main board. But hey...if you don't find it funny....well that's fine too. There has been for more inflammatory things and obvious trolling go down on these boards.

If he plays 2 years in the NCAA like Makar, it will be a long wait lol.
He isn't remotely ready to play in the NHL right now and will need significant time to put on 30lbs as well fixing his glaring back skating issues. He also needs to find another gear as his speed is not sufficient for his size but I suspect that the added muscle will correct that if he can put it on.

There is no rush and I won't count out dramatic improvement over the next year but he was a project when we selected him and is the exact same project today. I love his intensity/drive and confidence so I am content to patiently let him put in his work and watch the Hutson show at BU for the foreseeable future.

Not going to wade into the peripheral discussion but I do also have legitimate concerns if his size can transfer over as he progresses.

It's obvious he has skill for days but he has to be able to defend against the monsters in the league. If he's like a Caufield and can avoid contact/smartly get himself out of situations when we play heavy forechecking teams that would be amazing. It's obvious he shines offensively but, and it should go without saying, your defenseman have to be able to play defense.

Obviously other teams feel the same way, or he would have gone a lot higher than 62.
The facts bear out even though smaller players have their place now given emphasis on speed / skill, data clearly shows the avg size of Dman across the league has only grown, the smaller players are exclusively forwards

Krug is what 5'9? He's a pretty good dman.
He’s built like a tank

I don't know why some have major concerns about him and his size. The history have prove with the time that kind of defenseman : undersized, gifted offensively with a high hockey sense, more truth than ever in the new NHL, can survive in this league and he has a lot of time to grow before thinking to play at the highest level.

Jared Spurgeon 5'9" - 166 lb - Full time NHL at 20 years + 10 months
Samuel Girard 5'10" - 170 lb - Full time NHL at 19 years + 5 months
Torey Krug 5'9" - 194 lb - Full time NHL at 22 years + 6 months
Quinn Hughes 5'10" - 180 lb - Full time NHL at 20 years
Cale Makar 5'11" - 187 lb - Full time NHL at 20 years + 11 months
Adam Fox 5'11" - 182 lb - Full time NHL at 21 years + 8 months

In that list only Krug bring a physical element to his game like Frankie Bouillon did at the time; build like a tank. I have 40 years old and I never see that kind of skill on the offensive side from a defenseman prospect with the habs; honorable mention to Schneider and Subban!

The most effective defenseman over the time like Lidstrom, Niedermayer and Markov didn't really use their shoulders but their hockey sense to play the puck on the defensive side; they played the game like a chess game.

Andrei Markov 6'0" - 200 lb - 476 hits in 990 games
Nicklas Lidstrom 6'1" - 192 lb - 264 hits in 1564 games
Scott Niedermayer 6'1" - 194 lb - 284 hits in 1264 games

He will not become one of this guys but I trying to demonstrate how, if you have a hockey sense better than average, you don't need necessary to try demolish players on the boards with yours shoulders and simply use the advantage to be a better hockey player.

In my opinion, Hutson is the best prospect of the habs and I'm really high on Beck, even before the camp, but this guy will change the way we played the game and will give us a powerplay specialist for the next decade. I simply don't see how this guy can't do is magic at the NHL level, I know his skating can be better bur for me is a you can't miss prospect!

The Kraken miss this guy not 1 time, not 2, not 3 but 4 freakin time in the 2nd round of the draft. Their scouting departement need some kick in the ass and a headshake! I still don't know how player like Gaudreau, Farrell, Caufield, Hutson drop like that at the draft because the only concern is their size but for godsake we play hockey here and when you found one who can play with the puck give this guy a chance whatever his size! I will never understand the way they see and they draft!

Like MSL, Desharnais, Bouillon, Fleury etc... he got the "fire" to prove everyone their are wrong about his size and the capacity to play in the NHL and I will never bet against a guy like that who need to fight at every level to gain his place because he will never give up until he achieve what he wanted. Simoneau seem a guy like that in a lesser extent and do a lot better than what he suppose to do because of this kind of determination!
