I hope he succeeds at defense. But he seems like a prime candidate to become a winger if he doesn't gain any weight.

He will gain weight for sure, and possibly a bit of height. Not many strong offensive Ds when young turn into NHL wingers. Deslauriers maybe?

More than "tanking", what Cup winners have in common the most is offence generated from the back end.

The 74-75 Flyers, 1999 Stars, and the 1996 Avalanche were the only exceptions since 1969.

If you're gonna pick small...go BIG with players like Caufield and Hutson!!!

I can't wait to see Hutson on the ice feeding Caufield for his 30th or 40th or 50th goals!! (2 yrs from now? whenever Hutson gets to 180lbs - 185lbs...5'10 or maybe even 5'11).

Sidenote: with talented/fun to watch (but small) players like Caufield and Hutson...it's good we'll have X-Man (Arber Xhekaj), Jayden Struble, and Fairbrother to be the Habs' policemen.

The future:
Guhle
Barron
Hutson
Harris
Struble
Xhekaj
Mailloux
Fairbrother

He could be a Brian Rafalski type, but even Rafalski was taller than him.
Rafalski was 5'9 - 5'10 (some hockey magazines had him at 5'9). Hutson (right now) is apparently 5'9 (or very close to it...and still growing as we speak...type!). And, we're not talking about going from 5'6 or 5'7 to 5'10!! Hutson is already not far from 5'10.

He's gonna be a good one, no matter what. You just have to pair him with a big/tall dman (X-man? Struble? Mailloux? who won't let Hutson take any abuse/bullying). Is there a young Hal Gill out there?! A rightie (Mailloux) would be better or a leftie who can play the right side.

Hutson may be a late-bloomer when it comes to height...he may end up 5'10...maybe even 5'11...180-185lbs.

He wasn't drafted to play now/soon. More likely when he's 20-21....so still time to grow and add some pounds!

He will be so exciting to watch!!

What I don't think some people realize with the bone growth delay is that also includes the size of the bones themselves, not just their length. You gain about 10 pounds per inch of height on average, but if you grow larger as well you're adding even more weight. He could be well above 170-180 within a year.

Hey that's Cole Caufield!

He was 5'8.25 at the combine

And the doctor of Hutson say he can grow at 5"10, even 5"11. If he reach that... Hutson is going to be a solid defenseman, no doubt about that. Even at 5"9, Krug is 5"9... if Krug can play really good hockey, Hutson can do that, he have the talent to product at NHL.

His face reminded me of someone, then it clicked. Oswald Cobblepot/Penguin in Gotham.
