Not a slight on Byfield but if Byfield had Lizottes heart then he’d be unstoppable. I love Lizotte because regardless of his size, he won’t take shit. David vs Goliath.
I think we're all waiting for some version of this, but I thought Byfield was good last night, after an atrocious first period. He was skating hard, he threw a couple hits, and that was a crafty poke pass to Kempe for the second goal.

Not quite night and day from last year in the playoffs, but night and hazy morning sun at least...

EDIT: He's also way ahead of Stutzle in playoff scoring...

I believe the team will continue to grow from here. This win was an amazing morale and confidence booster, and the experiences from last season's playoffs are invaluable in such a situation. The team is determined not to repeat the same mistakes twice. While there is still a long way to go to win the series, the attitude is right where it needs to be. Go Kings Go!

I hope so but i feel like we were on the verge of being blown out most of the game... Oilers can score 3 goals in minutes, while it takes us fighting and clawing all game offensively for the same result.

Well, what a fantastic surprise to wake up to this morning. Went to bed after the first twenty.

Hopefully they can build upon this. Big time pressure on the Oil going into Game 2. The Kings have nothing to lose as they already have the split in their back pocket.

Considering the team lacks depth due to injuries, it was exactly what the doctor ordered. It was not their most aesthetic win; on the contrary, but the qualities they showed should be taken very seriously by the Oilers. So yes, maybe the Oilers can score three goals in minutes, but they didn't yesterday, and it was not due to bad luck. In my opinion, Anže and Drew make the difference here, both on and off the ice.

I am still tripping out. The Oilers scored in OT right?

Also should give props to Durzi. He kept his composure all night and was solid.
The third pair and the Kupari line out there together got hemmed a good bit and it should be avoided as much as possible.

Kings scored 3 goals in the 3rd period.

I understand your sentiment but this time of year you have to capitalize on your chances. Still a long road ahead.

I really hope we can get Vilardi and potentially Fiala back before the end of this series. I'm the most worried about Fiala - did he do extra damage to his knee? Or is it just one of those cases where he can't explode like he needs to?

It’s been speculated at length that he is dealing with a pain management issue more than anything.

If it was a tear of any sort, he would have (hopefully) gone under the knife already.

Well… wasn’t expecting to wake up to this. I can only imagine the tears about the kings last two goals being on the pp.

I resemble that remark.

First Kings playoff game I’ve turned off early in my life. In my defense it was only because my wife is out of town and I had to get up at dawn with the kids.
I meant "Jabronis" with a soft 'j'. All good man. That first period was truly disgusting.
