First Kings playoff game I’ve turned off early in my life. In my defense it was only because my wife is out of town and I had to get up at dawn with the kids.

Up 3-1 half way through the 3rd with 0pts from McDavid, the Oilers would hate to lose that game. McDavid with 0pts and not winning 1 of the 4 needed games, the Kings would hate to waste that effort.

I assume the Oilers will throw everything they have at Game 2. McDavid to another gear. Hitting to hurt. Nothing revolutionary involved. Weather the first 10min storm, be better to start, whatever good things were done, keep doing that.

Game 1 was 4-3 last year too, and the Oilers won 6-0 in Game 2, even with the 1st period ending 0-0. Onto Wednesday.

I knew I'd eventually have to pay the piper for using ESPN+ exclusively to watch the Kings. After last night's ESPN broadcast, be thankful most of you folks got to listen to Faust and Fox instead. Even if you find them annoying, count your blessings you didn't have to endure Buccigross and Weekes cheerleading the Oilers all night. Every time the Kings scored it reminded me of the Coyotes AHL pbp guy calling a Reign goal. IYKYK.

I think Byfield leveled a guy off camera sometime in the third. There was an Oiler in the corner who passed it just as Byfield came in fast, the camera followed the puck, and there was a loud hit followed by some oohs and ahs.

East Coast, I just couldn't stay awake to watch the last period but wow did I get the sweetest surprise this morning seeing the recap.

Oilers are going to be very tough to get past even with winning game 1, but just to put even a little bit of nervousness and doubt in the fan base is a win itself.
