Daws stops a breakaway soon after the ensuing faceoff and the Amerks keep up the heat

Daws stands tall and the chances keep coming. The Goal seems to have awakened a sleeping giant.

Another Amerk in clean and Daws again!

What a weak one but it's a 2-0 lead for the Comets (they blew a 3-0 lead on Wednesday so don't get comfortable.

Now the Comets are back to the PP as Laberge takes a stick in the face.

Thompson turns it over in the circle.

Rochester comes down and scores on a terrible angle shot from behind the goal line but might have deflected in the crease.

It did it went off dugan standing to the left of Daws. The shot would have gone all the way to the far side of the rink. NOTHING Nico could have done.

Comets PP again empty.

Comets started out with a 6-1 advantage, but it was 9-8 Utica the rest of the way and the goals came in those 17 shots.

2 of the 3 goals were not of the most beautiful variety.

Thompson was all alone and shot the puck directly into Luuk's pad just laying there.

3-1 Comets.

The Amerks were in and it was real dangerous, but the KID caught up to the play from behind and broke up the chance. He's done that a lot, but maybe shouldn't get caught in the other end so often to make it necessary to make incredible recoveries.

Nice work by the Thompson line and it finally ends with Luulk holding on. good shift.

Thompson drives the net and is stopped on the doorstep by Luuk. Dineen went right back to the Thompson line after a shift by Talvitie's line.

Big scramble in front of Daws and he made two stops and the puck was flipped all the way down on Luuk.

A goal by the Amerks with 42 seconds left in the period. The Comets have had real trouble late in periods and games. They blew a 3-1 mlewad on Wednesday in the final 3 minutes of the game and lost in OT.

They crawl right back into the game. It was Rochester's 3rd shot of the period.

2nd period ends with the Comets lead cut to 3-2.

Thompson has yet to figure out he can't just barge past a guy stnding in front of him to get out of the zone. he constantly turns it over at his own blue line instead of just getting it out and pursuing it.

Comets are a brand new team now. It's PK time again with 15:40 to go. They are on their heels. They seem to be stunned by the Amerks charged up 3rd period attitude.

They killed that one.

New game now all even. It's like starting over again.

Comets have had a very hard time holding leads.

Then when they are put in a position of having to score they suddenly can't make anything happen, can't pass, can't skate, can't shoot. It's like they go numb and fall into a state of shock.

1st unit gets their chance.

Shot hits Luuk in the mask, the post, and out of play.

Now a broken stick and the PP ends with the Comets unable to exploit the missing stick on a 4-man kill.

Amerks continue to haunt the Comets, 5-3 in the 3rd after Utica was up 3-2 to start the period

Amerks score on an uncontested wrister from the left circle. A rocket into the back of the net and instantly back out. Being outshot 2-1 in the game and take the lead 4-3

Now a 2on1 rush and back and forth and forth in front, Daws down across the crease pads stacked and the trailer came on and scored the 5th one 22 seconds later.

A total F**king collapse by a team without an ounce of intestinal fortitude.

Adversity just destroys them.

3-0 lead Wednesday and blew the 3-1 lead in the last 3 minutes and then lost in a shootout in which they failed over and over and over again to score the shootout winner.

Were outshooting this team by a huge margin and blew a 3-1 lead in the last minute of the 2nd to let them back in at 3-2 and then just flat out imploded in this one in the last half of the 3rd.

Rochester scored the last 4 goals.

Shots are still 38 -20, but the Comets haven't scored since 5:40 of the second.

This years Comets are the opposite of last years version. Totally not fun to watch at all. As for Nemec so far, he is just there. He needs a lot of time to develop into something useful on the NHL level, that's for sure. His and Talvities "defense" on Rousek's tieing goal, where he just walked through both of them, was among the worst I've ever seen.

Unless he wanted to go back to Europe. Maybe he can make a bit more at home?

That was what I was thinking. Though it's possible the ECHL is over his head. Minus-4 in three games isn't impressive.
