Wow, that’s a great deal for Vancouver. If Grier can’t get more, that’s on him.
It seems like Beauvilier is seen as a cap dump nowadays so it's a 1st and a B+ prospect for a rentalthat seems.....like a lot for Horvat but I guess the top 12 protection drives it down a bit
That was exactly what I wanted in return for Timo from NYI.So Horvat just got Raty and a mid first. Meier should easily get more than that
Yeah, I don't know much about Beauvillier or Raty, but looking at their stat-line, seems more like a quantity rather than quality trade. Obviously still pretty good for a rental, but seems like a okay trade on both sides? It seems like Beauvilier is seen as a cap dump nowadays so it's a 1st and a B+ prospect for a rental
makes more senseIt seems like Beauvilier is seen as a cap dump nowadays so it's a 1st and a B+ prospect for a rental
At first glance, I thought it was a 1st, an A prospect, and a solid young NHLer which seems like a crazy return for a rental. But after digging into it more, Beauvilier and Raty aren't regarded that highly right now. Like I remember Raty was returning to form last year but he hasn't really progressed that well and Beauvilier has just dropped off a cliff in the last 2 years.Yeah, I don't know much about Beauvillier or Raty, but looking at their stat-line, seems more like a quantity rather than quality trade. Can't be disappointed if the expectations are low. At the very least, this sets a floor for Grier; if he can't beat this with Meier then he shouldn't have the job.I'm still expecting something along the lines of 1st+Holtz+another prospect like Villen or Muk and maybe a cap dump. Seems to be even more likely now.
Horvat is also riding an insanely high shooting percentage and he's a UFAIt feels like an underwhelming return to me. Beauvillier is the Islanders's Labanc, and Raty is a B-level prospect.
I'm guessing this was also the offer to SJ for Meier as well. I would hope Grier said no because there was a better offer on the table from the other teams in the bidding warIt feels like an underwhelming return to me. Beauvillier is the Islanders's Labanc, and Raty is a B-level prospect.

So basically what Horvat just got
Untouchable.Whats the ask for Benning? Or he isn't up for trade?
I'll give you Eklund, Bordeleau, and our 1st to take Benning.Whats the ask for Benning? Or he isn't up for trade?
New Jersey has a young team. They can’t keep everyone. We can get good, young players.Canucks are retooling and Sharks will be rebuilding, so Meier won't be returning an established roster guy like Beauvillier.
I dunno if a guy who’s got 35 goals in the last three season combined is anything more than a cap dump. Sharks are probably better off getting a cap dump in return as well as it increases timo’s value.Canucks are retooling and Sharks will be rebuilding, so Meier won't be returning an established roster guy like Beauvillier.
Benning's great for the tank so I'd love to keep him for the time beingI'll give you Eklund, Bordeleau, and our 1st to take Benning.

Yeah I'm thinking it's like Morrow/Nikishin+1st+Teravainen.The main difference being that Beauvilier would barely count here. Looking for a young player with upside rather than a reclamation project
