Honest question, does anyone think when they watch Byfield play and say “damn that’s why we took him second”? Does anyone see anything actually that impressive with him except the one nice pass every other game?

No, I don’t want to be super negative, but if he had like 10 goals I wouldn’t be worried. But dude can’t even get 5 and looks lost out there.

Byfield and Turcotte will be a hell of a 4th line for a 2nd overall and a 5th overall.

Damn Kings keep turning the puck over in the neutral zone.

If those two bust, Blake won’t see 2025 as Kings GM.

You simply can’t miss that hard on two top five picks.

Spence, Bjornfot or any other call up hasn't shown they can run this pp yet.

is it a worthy tradeoff for a PP2 QB who cant play defense? and has Spence truly gotten a fair shot with 5 games and not one with more than 16 minutes TOI and 1 minute of PP time?

Kills me seeing Dylan Cozen highlights...much less Stuetzle or Zegras.

Just caught up to the live feed.

Noted enforcer Nic Hague showed no hesitation to immediately go at the Kings enforcer.

Kings aren't a real team. A nice power play doesn't change that.

Felt like the playoffs started last week against Edmonton and they haven't answered the bell unless they are playing a garbage team.

TM is not managing Spence right and he almost ruined Vilardi. How can Spence flourish when he is called up, plays little in one game and then is sent back down. That ruins his confidence. He has to be given a legit chance by playing him 15 games or more, let him get acclimated to the NHL speed and see what he can do. One game isn't going to get it. Heck TM gives Durzi time and he sucks.

Everyone knew QB was a project and not going to step right in and light it up. He's had some health issue that has slowed him down. All the other picks have over 100 more games than him. Not even close to bust territory.

Said the same thing about Kaliyev- he clearly has elite offensive gifts and Tmac burys him on the 4th and healthy scratches him. Imagine we had a coach who could have modeled him into a top line player and gotten legit PP time. Hell- all he had to do was setup a PP wit Kaliyev blasting one timers and hes good for 20 goals. The fact he has as many points he has playing 4th line minutes is remarkable.

Quicks like "I could've won this game"
Then why in the hell did they take him 2nd overall if thy knew this. Blake should have taken a player that more NHL ready at that position. You don't gamble on a project with the 2nd overall pick.

Because he was the 2nd best player at the draft. You don't pass that up . He's only 20 BTW. They weren't looking for NHL ready. There was no way in hell he'd have started his draft year. Stutzle was awful year one and should've stayed in junior too.

Kings have a knack for going into cruise control once they clinch a playoff berth. It happened in 2016, it happened in 2018, and it’s happening again. They always resulted in first round exits as well.

Tmac should call his TO just to really add no rhyme to his no reason.

I love the fact he watches a game get out of hand and simply lets it unfold without nary a thought of game management or employing any tools at his disposal to turn the tide.

Whats the common denominator
