The Jets also have 41 wins this season, same amount as the Oilers, and one less than the Kings. And as already mentioned, the Kings also beat the Avs in Colorado in dominant fashion.

7 actually. There were 7 when the crosscheck happen and 7 when the penalty was called and 6 when everyone else joined in. They completely missed this even though the ref, and the linesman was right there.

The thing is, when he turns to face him, his stick is parallel to Morrissey and Lizzo is expecting Morrissey to crosscheck him, not him dropping the gloves a quarter second later like he did. He tried to jump him and got it in the mouth. The linesman saw the square off to the dropping of his gloves. He had the best view.

That's so this team to have a guy just cross-check a dude in the face when said dude just wants a straight up clean fight.

They have no clue what to do in "violent" situations. What a stupid and wuss play by Lizotte.

Soft Hockey Hall of Fame inductee Jim Fox with a pretty embarrassing take on that play and all other physical plays today.

A 6ft 200lb guy, trying to fight a 5'9 170lb guy, is not a guy wanting a "clean" fight.

I support Lizotte getting a suspension, but I doubt Morrisey is completely innocent. I presume there was more to that situation than we know.

I'm okay with the 5, match, and suspension. Granted, I don't think Morrissey is innocent in all this, but it's not enough to mitigate the outcome of the crosscheck.

Now if only the league would stop focusing on the outcome when they dole out suspensions.

What he said was (and i paraphrase) was that lizotte was raising his stick in self defense and then that lizotte didnt deserve a penalty then said maybe deserved a penalty but not a major and then said maybe a major but not not a misconduct and basically stepped all over himself trying to backpedal.
So i inferred from this morass of of broadcast english that fox felt like lizotte didnt deserve a penalty. I suspect that fox ultimately decided as the replays became evident that it was a penalty.
So yes, we in fact watched the same broadcast.
Feel free to intrepret the homerisim however you like. Whenever the nhl ticket makes availalable the kings opponent’s broadcast i watch that. But i appreciate your well meant efforts at reorienting me.

When i see lizotte against typical size nhl d men on other teams well… hes frequently overmatched re his size. Not speed wise however

Lizotte peeled back towards him. Moz gave him a stick on the way up the ice, Lizotte didn't like it and that's that. There is no excuse for getting the stick that high: especially when Lizotte doing it means he had to raise the stick a foot higher than a normal player.

Lizotte doesn't get to be a PITA out on the ice and not be subject to getting challenged. This wasn't Lowry just going after him for no reason: just two guys playing hockey.
