Scheifele is so underrated , don't care what anyone says. He, Helly and Morrissey are our most important players.
If Josh played in the Center of the Universe, he'd be locked in for the Norris already. But he doesn't, and he'll have to be that much better than anyone else to get the recognition he deserves. Such a solid, dependable, dynamic player.

jets sent down both ford and lambert, they really are trying to accrue as much space as possible
Ford is a hard working tough little guy but man he looked like a little boy out there against the Caps, his lack of size is a huge issue when we already have too many smaller players with a lot more skill!

no it doesn't, he was placed on the ir on weds which means he can't come off yet, it could mean lowry is close to returning but that would only have us at 12 healthy forwards... this is a move to gain deadline cap space
But, do we have enough forwards? I mean who is our 12th forward?

Liked the Jets game other than the 3rd period which was shit. The Jets being on a run in Feb are signs of positivity, usually by this time of the year you can see the wheels start to come off.
That there is what makes this year and this team different. Looks like they have learned different ways to win under Arniel, their system is flexible, and their player depth more versatile.

Yeah but we'd suck without our first 16 games.
2 of the 3 streaks were during that first 16 games: 8 wins, loss to the Leafs, then 7 wins.

The Jets also won 8 in a row last April at the end of the regular season...so four 6 or more game win streaks in the last calendar year.

Since you don’t care what anyone says I’m going to put out the argument this season the jets 3 most important players are kc, Helly and mo. Kc has been even more prolific offensively, turns the puck over less and in my opinion has been playing better defensively.
As a bonus, they trust kc on the pk in a way they don’t trust schief.
Not sure its just that... they already have two right draws - kupari and lowry - prob want names or barron for the other unit

I never saw this before this season, but would venture that Arniel may be the most mentally "nimble" coach the Jets (2.0) have ever had. Able to avoid getting stuck in his ways, I would suggest.

Jets have the best current winning streak in the NHL, 6W.
I think the Isles are at 7W, maybe I'm wrong - but the Jets are killing it, definitely.

Only saw the highlights but it looked like Jets D had trouble with bigger Capitals forwards around the net on at least 2 goals. Playoff hockey will look more like that I’d imagine, with forwards getting in Helle’s face.

Maybe the annual “get a 2C” chant turns into getting a top 4 D that can help with that. It’s a shame we let Dillon walk, he’d help with that.

I mean kc is faster and pk is all bout cutting off gaps and pressuring.

Also Gmoney showed that Kc has fewer turnovers and more assists so it’s easy to think he makes smarter plays once he has the puck on his stick.

That doesn’t explain why they would want kc over ehlers considering Ehlers should be fresher playing fewer minutes, unless they already want a guy from top line already on ice so it’s easier to join him then switch all 3 guys.

If we kept Dillion Berg wouldn’t step up as he’d be on bottom pairing. Or they wanted to save money for Ehlers big signing this year.

Yeah i was about to say i have no problem not liking him. I don't want him to break the record (though obvious he's going to)

It really seems like for all we complain about not having a legit 2C Namestnikov is the straw that stirs that drink.

He looks like whatever was ailing him is better. I do wish he had a bit better finish but he's been creating a lot for that line.
I thought Names was our best player yesterday . And I also had no complaints about any of our D either { Stanley included } . The first line and Helly had below average games and that's ok as they have been great this year .
It's nice to see dif guys step up and not just rely on the same people all the time .

Was just scouring thru the TSN home page and out of the 100 articles or so on there , there is not one on the Jets game , like not one . F ing pathetic !!!!

Not to take anything away from the Jets win ... they deserved the win I have no idea how it even went to OT but the Caps were coming off a 2 week road trip and usually a team is sluggish in their first home game.
I'm so glad this road trip they finally beat teams who for some strange reason have had trouble winning in MTL, BOS, WAS.
This game did prove that the Jets need a big tough D man to protect the crease. Two of the Caps goals would not have happened and two were misplayed by Helly. Don't get me wrong I still think the Jets are the #1 team I just don't want them to be bullied in the playoffs.

am I the only one that thinks that the 2 goals against had nothing to do with the caps size?

1st one we blocked the shot it landed on scheifele's stick and before he could skate it away from danger the caps knocked it off his stick and it just created a lot of chaos,

the other goal we had just spend like 1.5 mins in there zone they dumped it in and demelo just missed breaking up the cycle, strome took a bad angle shot and scheifele mis-read the play jmo was covering the slot and wilson beat demelo to the rebound

it just seems that these were just breakdowns against players that happen to be big not that they were big so they created the breakdowns

names had a good game but he still is not the answer at 2c, he had good games early in the year as well but then went ice cold, he is a good player, but he is a player that should only play up the lineup when injuries happen, if we want to go far the playoffs we need a legit 1-2 punch
