If we miss the playoffs because we had the great idea to have Chaffee and Raddysh on the powerplay i'm gonna lose my mind
Holy shit.Rookie Geekie+ Atkinson, Goncalves, Chaffee, Glendening, Girgensons, Eyssimont
You can waive any of these players and no one will claim them. There are 0 legit NHL players in our bottom six. Does anyone seriously believe that at this point it can be fixed by trades?
Last year we traded a young RD for rental, got destroyed in the first round anyway. If anyone wants to do it again then ok. I personally don't see the point.
I have no idea what you're talking about. One thing doesn't exclude the other. Bottom is bad, but that doesn't mean the 0+2 dude can't be better, just because he's been better every other season.Holy shit.
ITS COME FULL CIRCLE.
You went from "Fire Cooper" because he's got a great team that should be better than Washington by game #27, arguing that he should be getting more out of the bottom six, to now realizing at game #50-something that I, not you, was right all along and it's our bottom six.
Ive let the others do some disciplining but dad is back and he's here to remind you that you have much to learn young grasshopper.
We will recover the assets before our souls heal from the damage. For as bad as the bottom 6 is, Cirelli turning back into a pumpkin has really messed everything up. And I'm almost positive the league has our PP figured out. I don't see how this gets any better without better talent and a lot of it
Edit: dude. Holy f***. How is it possible we are STILL paying for the Jeannot trade and Nashville has our 1st?
Production of the entire 2nd line of Hagel-Cirelli-Geekie/whoever dropped way down in January. For as bad as the bottom 6 is, Cirelli turning back into a pumpkin has really messed everything up. That or we're gonna trade CirelliWe will recover the assets before our souls heal from the damage.
The problem is we are built on line 1 having that ridiculous pace they were on and never falling off. November might be the only month in 2 years of trying in which Hagel and Cirelli have played well together. Everytime I saw it work I said a quiet little prayer it wasn't the last time. All said I am more pissed we didn't reload after the repeat than I am about what we are seeing now. We could have rebuilt this entire lineup with Killorn, Cirelli and Sergachev alone. Instead we have whatever the hell this is supposed to be.Production of the entire 2nd line of Hagel-Cirelli-Geekie/whoever dropped way down in January.
Cirelli went 5-2-7 in 16 GP.
Geekie went 1-1-2 in 15 GP.
Hagel went 5-7-12 in 16 GP (would’ve been 3-6-9 without the LA game).
Now except for Geekie they were scoring at almost ppg pace in 2024. Way above Cirelli’s career average. And he’s been on 15-25 game hot/cold streaks before in his career.
The real issue is that the 1st line regressed offensively at the same time. We hit posts and missed open nets every other game. And the bottom-6 outside of Paul (5-3-8 in 16 GP) is a non-factor offensively anyway:
Chaffee went 2-0-2 in 16 GP.
Ace went 1-1-2 in 15 GP.
Atkinson went 0-1-1 in 10 GP.
Goncalves went 0-1-1 in 7 GP.
Glendening went 0-0-0 in 16 GP.
Girgensons went 0-0-0 in 16 GP.
If him running into a barrier/gate with his car is any sign, maybe his eye sight is like the guy from the Waterboy?Reading the new thread title made me think: What’s up with Zemgus? His last five seasons in Buffalo before signing with us:
72-5-13-18
69-12-7-19
56-10-8-18
80-10-8-18
63-8-6-14
With us so far:
51-0-2-2
He’s never scored less than 5 goals in a season before in his career.
He’s never had less than 14 points in a season before in his career.
Those Buffalo teams have mostly been downright terrible and in any case worse than this current Lightning team.
What the hell is happening?

PP time wasn’t much of a factor though outside of 2021-22 when he had 4 PPP (out of 18 total points). His ice time per game was:
11:50 in 2023-2024
12:58 in 2022-2023
14:47 in 2021-2022
He is just north of 11 min now (11:12). Not drastically different from last season, but 3-4 min and likely better line mates/opportunites do make a difference.
3/10 goals in 2021-2022 were PPG. He also got PP time in 2022-2023; not sure about last season.
Was thinking about this the other day. If we're going pure fantasy land, I'd empty the tank for a player like that.If Tuch were available, may as well check to see if Buffalo has completely lost their marbles and go for Thompson.
