Do you think it’s good coaching when you’re not icing your best players down the stretch?

If they are winning I don't care who the hell he ices. Two teams have been better down the stretch - the two clear best teams in the league. No one else.

Is it good coaching when your team is over .700 for the last 3 months? With a 35-year-old 1C and no 3C? And a 31 year-old cast off as your #1? At this point it's like bitching that Hitomi Tanaka only spanked you once during sex.

top 7 in the West are all winning at least a .650 pace.. only fader is Winnpeg. Minne is 8-0-2.. they lost Fiala and have cap problems but somehow they are winning.

For being scratched after struggling coming back from an injury? Seems a bit extreme. I'm sure Arty can handle it.
They should scratch Iafallo for struggling all season and they should scratch MacEwen for struggling his entire career? Are you going to continue to make terrible arguments to justify bad coaching decisions because this retorts are extremely light work.

*Googles Hitomi Tanaka*

Do you think hockey is that simple? Do you take your car into the shop once it’s dead or when you notice that something isn’t right?

Serious question here. How much better could the Kings do than right now?

Yes I do.

What is exactly more important to you - that the Kings win or that the coach plays who you think he should?

Are you describing the Boston Bruins? Let's be honest, Kopitar is a star 1C and has been carrying this team for years and he is doing it again, reducing him to just a "35 year old 1C" is like saying that Bergeron is just a 37 year old 1C.

I think the coach icing the best possible line up game in and game out ensures the possibility of winning. I think not icing the optimal line up you’re increasing the chances of losing. Do you understand? I’m happy they’re winning but it’s concerning to those who see the game beyond wins and losses that the coach doesn’t ice the best line up. Kings are winning despite the coach not icing the best line up. That’s stupid.

Yeah I get that, and I totally agree. People wanted to find a way to dump him last year. Blake Lizotte has gotten a lot of undeserved vitriol at 3C.

I just want to know how this team can have so many holes that people bring up, have a terrible coach, and have been better than anyone in the west for 3 straight months.

Well, I got my answer.

The overboard Todd hate really skews your outlook. The fact that you think the Kings are winning in spite of their coach is the very definition of bias. Looking beyond winning and losses is fine if they are getting smothered and scratching out wins against shitty teams - but they aren't. Looking at this team objectively on the ice, they are playing freakin great hockey.

If they sucked, I would be right there with you. But hating on him because he's playing a 4th line-style player on the 4th line? Or playing Iafallo who has 7 points and is a +5 in his last 11? I just don't get it.

This recent stretch has really improved this, but there were(and still are to some extent) concerns. Regulation wins and goal differential are key things to look at with 3 on 3 overtime and shootouts, especially when looking towards the playoffs.

Haters gonna hate. The more the Kings win the stupider they look. “Looking past the wins and icing the best team” - LMFAO.

How the f*** are people still complaining about TM. Jesus Christ, talk about bitching to be miserable

The team still has a +3 goal differential and TM has yet to win a playoff round. As the highest paid coach in the league, there are expectation of him, he also has a history with the fanbase from his time in San Jose and Edmonton. It's not really a miserable thing, it's a message board my man. If everyone just thought Blake/Luc/TMac were perfect it would be pretty damn boring.

They only started playing great hockey after they got goaltending and an LD. They haven’t been playing great hockey until recently. They’re only +8 in goal differential. The Kings have become a good team recently. They were sucking, they were playing bad hockey, bad coaching, trades were made, now they’re playing good hockey. Do you think Todd is suddenly a good coach because his line up choices were stupid before the trade and they’re stupid now. Are you going to lend credit to Todd or the players we have now?

Stop being so dense. Lol if you think Todd suddenly learned be a better coach around the same time trades were made then there’s no hope for you. Your simplistic understanding of hockey is not the way I see it. Only a few games ago Durzi was closing out Pks on the first unit near the end of the game. Same guy who’s been playing Edler. Same guy who’s been putting the worst Dmen. The same guy who’s actively let his team collapse numerous times. The same coach who’s got reverse swept in a rare feat.

Are you going to pretend that the Kings are a very good team due to Todd or because the Kings have a good team. And if Todd, tell me do you think the Kings would be in a playoff spot without Fiala?

Oh absolutely, all teams are going to have concerns except for maybe the ridiculous Bruins. This team started slowly, but look at the goal differential and regulation wins since mid-December:

34 games - 18 ROWs, 5 OT wins. +16 goal differential. Those ROW's are right there with the Devils, Oilers, Lightning, Avalanche - teams that have been on good streaks. Tied for 8th best goal differential over that period.

If anything that looks pretty damn sweet going towards the playoffs, can't think of a better time to turn it on than down the stretch.
