Yea I cant imagine watching that game and deciding to call out Byfield.
Kopitars worst game in months actually. Where was Danault? Mikeys hasnt been as good since the day he signed the new deal. Goaltending and bottom pair just brutal. A deep forward group spread out in such a way that theres a 4th line that should be a lottery teams 3rd line.
The Durzi conundrum.
So many things tonight to complain about if you want to.
Byfield should be near the bottom of the list tonight. At least he hustled.

dont get me wrong- he made some nice plays but also made some plays that killed momentum- not hating on the guy but think coach is warranted to juggle some lines especially in the 3rd. Hope he can start burying chances- looks snake bit right now for potting goals.

Byfield isn't among the top dozen issues with the team right now, and that's if you take the myopic and wrong view that he's an issue at all

This is usually my biggest issues with Todd, and I usually don’t have a lot of them. But Byfield instead of Iaffalo on the PP, him on PP2 in front of the net like Vilardi. And then Bjornfot splitting more time with Edler, it should be like 50/50 or 60/40, not 80/20. Those choices always make me shake my head.

I always want to pile on in posts like this because proper deployment has always been the big knock on Todd but I can think of about 20 other fanbases who feel the same way. The fact is that, especially in this case, it's just so hard to tell what's going on behind the scenes.

If it's only about contracts, stature, and bro deal promises then f*** Todd but I suspect there are many layers and factors we just aren't privy to.

Someone needs to pull the fire alarm the guys are very comfortable taking a night off. That has been a reoccurring theme under Todd. We need someone in the coaching staff to throw a lawn chair or light a flaming bag of Shit on the ice and say if they take shifts off that’s gonna be the starting lineup because that’s what showed up on the replays.
 
I forgot about the game today and took my family to the Autry Museum. It looks like I made the right decision - especially when my phone kept feeding me the updates.

Not even so much to add a guy but we need to ship some dudes out. Reaching 70th percentile of your potential isn’t good enough for this team. Send them to a shit team for a draft pick for all I care.

And what about the previous 5 coaches these bozos have gotten fired? Todd sucks but there is rot in this roster that goes way back.

Bad analogy not fire him but for f***s sake bring in an assistant coach with a mean streak to be the bad cop. Honestly I don’t think Todd is a Stanley Cup caliber coach though, he is terrible at making changes and gets outcoached by smarter more adaptive thinkers!

I 100% agree we have too much of a country club vibe on the team and that a couple heads need to roll.

When playoffs start rolling around you are only as good as your last road trip. Let’s start with that. Players are way too comfortable taking a night off. That falls on the coach and GM since it has gone I corrected!
