Not going to comment on the game... Just felt this needed clarification.

Trains leaving Penn station on a Sunday out of the city are like once every 90minutes.

With it being a day game, lots of kids, people are going to catch their trains if the game is not in doubt.
Fair enough. Was just odd to see the lower part so sorry in a win on a weekend evening game.

Some things I didn't like about this game that as a Caps fan as well, I have seen multiple times playing against the Rangers @ MSG. The officiating was bad. On Panarin's goal, he tripped Copper behind the net before he scored. Zibanejad's injury was an acting job. I have seen players most of the time leave the game and not come back if they actually were hurt like Zibanejad was supposedly showing. He was standing for multiple seconds and then fell like a sniper shot his leg.

Side note: Whoever coaches the King's defense, needs to chew out Roy to stop deflecting shots past his own goalies! This is fools gold thinking Quick is gonna turn it around. He had a rare good game against an Islanders team that has challenges scoring goals. Kings continue to not give up a lot of shots and have a horrible save %. Had Copper started today, I think we might have won this game.

When is he gonna start burying those chances?
He could have had a five point night. Its coming, he isn't all that far away but it is going to require a change in his approach. He needs to get more aggressive.

Lots of folks discounted the fact that SO many of his points came off of rushes in the juniors. He was able to exploit his physical gifts against lesser competition, but he always had a lot of work to do off of zone possession. That part of his game has improved, though he needs to work on his positioning away from the puck. He tends to make a really nice play then peel off and get lost in traffic without asserting himself and demanding pucks back on his stick.

This Kings management team has a proven track record of producing overly tentative kids. Most players take some time to get adjusted into a comfort zone, but man, this team turns every kid into shrinking violet.

2-3 of them will be gone in the off-season anyway (cap reasons/create room for Clarke or Spence).

Only Walker will be leaving. None of the others will or should be considered.

These questions. How did the spitting effect you? Did it rattle the guys not in the bench to see that happen. Seriously …. I’m so over anyone under the age of 50 asking questions after the game!

I stopped watching.. tell me who was asking and who was being asked

I'm just wondering, does it do Byfield good playing in the NHL right now but scoring production is on a 4th line level? I just think Byfield would be better cooking at the AHL level right now.

Given that he's been scoring at a half-ppg pace and Kempe and kopitar OVER a PPG pace (and kempe amongst the NHL goal leaders) since his move to that line, the timing of this question is really suspect.

He is not producing thats for sure.. he is looking better in his overall game, but he does not impose his will very often. I guess you could put Vilardi up on line 1 and have Byfield play with Fiala.. change things up a bit. Maybe the A is the best place for him tho.

He has 3 points for the month (8 games).. no points in 4 games. I expect a bit more from him. He's blending in too much again, needs to make something happen.

Coach has every right to move him down in the lineup and actually should. Hes not producing and actually hurting the momentum of that line. Hes going to be a stud- hes just not right now and coach is painfully slow to make the obvious moves when lines are working.

Man, if all the forwards were held to the standards you guys want for Byfield right now we wouldn't be able to ice a team.

I'd be all for an Iafallo-Byfield-Vilardi 3rd line based on what they did earlier this year but then Kempe and Kopitar go right back to getting blown up nightly, mark my words. Its not a random accident those guys are suddenly on hot streaks.

I cannot imagine the mindset it takes to scapegoat the 20 year old after watching literally everyone else tonight as well.

Did you not notice that every chance that line created today was off of Byfield's work?

Gross.

They need to tell him to start scoring goals. They tell him everything else, except that.
His last comments were about getting pucks, keeping the zone, working the boards, getting
pucks to Kopi and Kempe...what about ripping pucks past goalies?
Part of scoring goals is a mindset. Pastrnak, McDavid, Matthews, etc expect to score goals
every freaking shift. Of course, it's a skill and shot and all of that....but if they went out there
and said "I need to keep the zone, I need to get pucks to my linemates, I need to create screens...I need
to work the boards" All of those guys goals would go down at least 20%. For real.
For real. 100%. Does Byfield tell himself and push himself to score goals?
No, he does not. He's hoping and doing some things right, but he sure does not push himself to, more than the other facets of the game. He needs to score goals. PERIOD.

Coach needs to tell Kopi and Kempe to actually tell QB "we're getting you the puck tonight, bury a few, ok?"
