Kaliyev has looked fine, considering he has averaged 9 minutes of time per game.
Ya this is more of 'be hard on the kids make them earn it - long leash for the vets' (assuming AK not injured). I think some of that is justified - but I think TM does that to a fault (as did DS). I just dont want blatantly dumb things happening e.g. Grundstrum on 2nd line over Kaliyev.

where did I say fire TM? No doubt Arvidsson is not going to sit for either of those two, who said he should? Why are you making up arguments that do not exist?

My common sense is that when someone posts "FIRE TM" they are exaggerating as it is only 3 games in. Maybe take your own advice.
Dude, did you miss this?

It was said prior to last game as well when someone reported Kaliyev was going to be scratched.

I never said YOU said it, I was speaking to the general group.

The problem is there is too much depth and now you have to shoehorn a top 6 winger into a spot on the 4th line. But all it take is an injury to VA or another top 6’er and then he’ll get al the time he needs.

But we aren't asking why, are we? We are saying FIRE TM! Dumb...

Besides that, Arvidsson is not going to sit for Kaliyev or Grundstrom unless that line proves to not be effective anymore...and that conclusion is not going to be made after game 3. That was the best line this team had last year and they will get a long leash before it's broken up.

Let's have some common sense here, I know it hurts.
You are becoming a caricature dude with these auto responses all the time. It's getting old. Koala "dumb" - yes; but nobody said Fire him in this thread (ok, maybe one person semi mentioned it is a somewhat joking/passing way).

BTW, common sense would be having Arvy sit a few games to start the season considering he's coming off major surgery and missed almost the entire TC / preseason games. Common sense is letting him work his way back into shape and show he's ready to perform at top level for 15-20 minutes a night. Not just toss him right back out there because he's an established "vet"

I wasnt a big fan of signing Lemew after Fiala was traded for... if he signed Lemew first, totally forgiveable but not after. Now you have Kupari in the A with nothing to learn.. you have this log jam of fwds even with RV out.. not ideal

This is the problem with a coach like TM, he is hampering the development of our younger players for 4th line recyclables. Blake is also to blame because he clearly gives TM the green light for lineup moves like this.

SFB has earned an alternate captain letter on his sweater after this post

If Kaliyev is going to play 5min at ES, what's the difference between being in or out of the lineup?

The Byfield/Vilardi line is out there twice as much as the Lizotte line. If TM is playing those guys at least some, then obviously Kaliyev must be doing something wrong. Or that line is. Even Lizotte is in the doghouse, so, something is weird.

By bringing in Arvidsson and Fiala.

Thanks, but I'll keep fighting the good fight, calling out the ignorance that pollutes this board.

Oh yah? Are you in the locker room? Team practices? Coaches meetings? You have insight to player personnel and who's considered 'ready' or 'healthy'? Awesome, nice to have a real insider contributing here.

lol, "fighting the good fight". Oh Lord, someone really takes themselves way too seriously. It's a hockey fan message board hahaha.

I sure as heck hope Arvy isn't fully 100% ready -- because he's looked bad these first three games.

Wish I could find the video, but I remember when the Kings were playing in Detroit and a fan made their way up into the rafters. I'm pretty sure Bob was calling the guy an idiot and maybe even told him to jump. Don't quote me on the last part because I can't imagine Bob saying that, but I do remember him being quite annoyed that the game had to be stopped.

I don't think so, something isn't there. He seems to be a step behind and not as good at retrieval as he was a few weeks ago. I just think he's dealing with something.

He's still valuable as he's usually not moving around a whole lot when he scores and there are others I would absolutely sit before him, but he just doesn't look like Arty to me right now.

He didn't say for the guy to jump, but he did quip that Detroit might get a too many men penalty if he fell onto the ice.

This guy gets it.

I get what you are saying, but who else on the Kings is bigger, will fight and also fill the agitator role? Yep, no one. I would much rather make a trade and wait until there's injuries. I think Blake knows the trade is going to happen this year or we will risk losing some valuable assets.

Was this game, they talk about it just n the comments. Memories Tonight's game story (Jan. 23) - LA Kings Insider

I have noticed the exact opposite - that he was a step quicker and winning a larger percentage of his battles.

I am not going to be disappointed in him sitting a game early unless its paired with an inaccurate description from the coach. He could be banged up, missed a beat in practice, who knows.

But since this management group has mangled up this rebuild, yeah, I get the concern.

I liked 48's game last year before he got hurt... he was skating adding lots of value.. But im less enamored of him since we dont have room for Kupari or Fagemo to maybe break thru. My guess is Blake may not have anticipated Vilardi's emergence...Def some roster surgery is needed desperately this year.
