Yes, but if you listened to the Wild room before the draft, they said that they valued Yurov higher, but thought that he would be around later because of the complications with Russian players. Ohgren is a good prospect, too, but if they only had one pick then they would've picked Yurov.
So basically we now have traded away Faber, Ohgren AND Yurov too…whoever pans out ?

LA traded away one of the most overrated prospects in LA’s system (said this before the trade as well) but still a solid prospect nevertheless and a mid 1st round pick for a PPG player in the prime of his career. If neither pans out, we did in fact steal him from Minny, yet we will never know who LA would have drafted though.

Lemieux has been kind of a mess lately, I'd actually consider putting Kupari on the wing with Fiala and QB once he returns, and put Grundy down with Lizotte and Arty. Yeah, less toughness but we really haven't needed it in most games. When you score a lot and have a PP that has been clicking teams don't want to run at you as much.

He hasnt been the same offensively since his injury last year. When he does play on the edge now the refs just give him penalties so thats a bit of a bummer also.

The Kings have backed themselves into a corner by not scratching him more earlier. Now they have one game to decide and they are having second thoughts for a lot of reasons. I think he goes down in the end , not strong, wont get enough minutes, save elc. The Kings salary cap issues are gonna be tight in the off season. Gab V's price is going up nightly. You dont want to lose the Dano line.Walker is coming on and the team is gelling with Brandt scratched. He responds well to rejection, eh hockey Canada?

There's no way Todd can sit Kupari right now, he looks stellar and has clicked with Fiala and Grundstrom pretty much instantly. That line is absolutely crushing it right now.

I think the right move long term might be sending Clarke back to juniors and calling up Bjornfot.

Anderson - Doughty
Bjornfot - Roy
Edler - Walker/Durzi

You, sir, are 110% correct. That line looks amazing. Who knew? Sometimes you just hit a certain dynamic and it works.

Vilardi and Kopitar look great together also. Honestly, if Blake can pull off a trade for a defenseman and our goaltending keeps playing like this....sky is the limit for this team if they maintain the effort.

Beating a non-divisional good opponent on the road? Yawn, let me know when we beat a weak Pacific opponent at home rested ;)

Yup, looks like Todd has found roughly the magic combo with the lines as well as time/deployment, that was an excellent game from even a coaching standpoint--props where they are due.

Some of those passing plays tonight...just...wow. It's not a long time past when we were lucky to get one highlight like that every couple of weeks, never mind 3+ in one night.

Is there a more satisfying goalie feeling in the league than chasing that f***ing pissbaby Binnington? Love the Blues but he almost solely makes them unlikable.

very few complaints...little soft at the beginning and end, I think @johnjm22 said it and I agree that Blues probably should have had a couple of goals early...but it's nice to be on the other side of that script for once, be the team with the pushback and the closeout. Steadily getting better game after game now for the most part and that's nice to see.

Hopefully they're still pretty fresh and excited given the b2b tomorrow. What a shit schedule to start the season...but hopefully in this case it works as they're rolling a rhythm and some momentum now. Stars are missing Oettinger, which is good for us but a bummer for hockey.

Kings failed forward development plan was in full display tonight - Kupari, Grundstrom, Vilardi, Kaliyev, and even Kempe. I mean the Kings wanted all these guys to be just “grinders” amirite? Yet here we are. Kings forward depth will serve them well.

What's happening tonight is like literally what a few of us have been asking for for over a year--putting kids in positions to succeed next to strong vets.

Vilardi is playing in the top six.
Kupari and Grundstrom get Fiala, Grundstrom got only 4 fewer minutes than Kopitar.

You think it's a gotcha, but it's actually exactly our wish come true, instead of just quarantining Vilardi-Kupari-Grundstrom together on the third line for 10 min :dunno: This time last year Grundstrom got benched after three similar performances in a row...

Seriously. It's insane. These aren't gotchas. How many times have we said that players need opportunities? They're finally getting opportunities and they're excelling with them.

The time on ice spread between the highest and lowest forwards was eight minutes, and on defense, seven minutes. That's exactly what we were asking for. Play Kopitar and Doughty less. Play the kids more. Here we are and we look great doing it.

So who is the odd man out next year in the forward group? Arvidsson? Someone has got to go in order to clear up cap space to resign Vilardi, Moore, and Anderson. If our young guys keep up their strong play, they are going to either push out one or two of the vets, or they get traded to fill in holes. I can't picture QB or Vilardi getting traded, and I really hope they don't decide to part with Kaliyev or Kupari. RV may be playing his last season in LA, and perhaps Trevor Moore has made Iafallo expendable.

They're "you were right"s masquerading as gotchas. I love it.

And like why would I be unhappy with this setup? Kept everyone fresh for tomorrow, practically everyone was involved and contributing in many different situations...it's how you keep people in the game rather than gassing them out with 24 min. Does anyone think Kupari and Grundstrom dont' benefit from Fiala and vice versa? Is Vilardi learning nothing from Kopitar and Kempe? It's basically my development dreams come true...

Coming from the guy who just earlier today stated the org was set on making Clarke 'f*** up' so they could send him down. Sure dude....lame.

And when they are playing Clarke on the right side and giving him pp time and 15+ minutes a game while being successful...I'll be right there too.

In the meantime, what you see is what you get.

But 5-1 Kings win and this is your only contribution says more about you than anyone else here. Yawn.

What do you need me to contribute? I'm also not here crying every time they lose a game and screaming for TM to get canned because of it. We have a good team, best state of the franchise we've seen in years...I've been vocal about that, I don't change my mind every other day like you and many others on this board. Today you love them, tomorrow when they lose, you will hate them. L-A-M-E
