I skimmed back through a couple of McTavish's games with the Ducks last year and it was funny how often Hazy referred to him as a "no-nonsense young man." He really should be paired with Zegras, who is 100% nonsense, just to even things out.

PS - he moved his feet okay during those games. Not dynamic by any means but not annoyingly static like he was during the rookie showcase.

Hope none of the younglings come into camp with a sense of entitlement. Players that float and/or coast annoy me to no end.

I worry about who will fill the huge leadership vacuum. Someone will but I hope it isn't someone who sucks.

Huh. We lost two named leadership guys last year in C Getz and A Manson. I know Silf has the other A on his jersey, but he's "I show by example" quiet leadership. Fowler and Rico are also quiet. Des was a leader when the Ducks needed that instant pick me up in-game who did show by example and chirped loud, but he's not here either.

Wow... we don't have a vocal veteran leader type on the club right now. Maybe it'll be a new guy? I know Strome wore the A for the NYR last year.

Rarely agree with this guy but totally agree here....

I get his point, but then you look a Toews and Landeskog. They did alright. Ofc they are more exception than the norm but... are young captains really a thing in the NHL? Or he just wanted to trash talk Suzuki and Tkachuk?

Carrick is the closest this team has
He was obvious leader during his ahl career as well

I mean both those players played on stacked teams to win so I guess they did alright. Most young captains don't have teams like that now-a-days.

Whom, for example?
Matthews, Suzuki, Hischier, Horvat, Larkin, Brady Tkachuk, etc.

And I'm sure many more to come with how the game is moving. Seems like teams are now more often just giving C to their best young player they want to sign or just signed.

Aha, I forgot some of those. Matthews is an assistant captain tho.

But not sure those teams had much better options. I agree that not everyone is made to be a captain early, tho, but if a guy shows leadership qualities in a rebuild and then why not I guess. The team veteran job is to help him anyway, probably.

Toews had a shitload of help. Without the leadership of Keith, Seabrook and Hossa that Hawks team wouldn’t have been nearly as successful. Toews absolutely melted down in their series against Detroit and threw a tantrum in the penalty box and it was Seabrook that calmed him down and got him to sort his shit out.

Before winning Landeskog captained his team to one of the worst years in modern day NHL history. The Avs didn’t win until he was captain for like 7 or 8 years.

Every cup winner in the last 10 years had a captain who was named captain young though, except kinda the blues, and Pietrangelo was only 26, other than that Crosby, Landeskog, Toews, Ovechkin, Stamkos, and Brown we’re all young when given the C. And I’d be willing to bet one or two of those guys you listed, while maybe not having much glory yet, will likely captain a team to a cup, and many will likely have a fair amount of play off success over the next decade.

This could be very cool

It does seem to me that the Ducks are ramping up their marketing activities, which, yeah, is really cool.
On one hand it's weird if they will just stream old game audios at some points  But there certainly are some really exciting programs there, it seems.

Very good!

24/7 would be pushing it for any type of content, ofc there will be some questionable stuff, but I'm excited about some of those programms. We have an actual program that talks with a GM? That's sweet

Could we make the Ducks Stream a separate thread?
