2022/23 Roster Thread XX: Heading into the Homestretch

Hayes with $3,142,857 retained + 4th to CBJ for Roslovic. Provorov for a pick. Cheap, one year deals for the RFAs to keep things simple. Ellis on IR - not LTIR because they are well under the salary cap with a full roster. No team wanted DeAngelo.

Would try to move Atkinson back to Columbus too if they'd be open to it.

There is mutual love there, Columbus has the cap space, and could use a RW.

You cannot move Hayes with 50% retained for the next 3 seasons, and also give up a pick. That cannot happen. It doesn't matter if you're getting Roslovic's one-year deal left. The Flyers will still have the ramifications for the following two years. The Flyers have to get value out of the retention.

This cannot be just a scenario of move him out at all costs, otherwise you're going to loose the deal.

.

If we're retaining that much, and giving up a pick, and taking back a project like Roslovic, I'd rather keep Hayes.

And nobody is more surprised to hear me say that than me.

Roslovic has 1 year left at $4 million

Hayes has 3 years left at $7.14 million

I don't think they need to attach a pick that high to move swap Hayes, but I am definitely fine with the retention.

If we are attaching a pick, I want them to take Atkinson's last 2 years as well.

Hayes at 0 retention and the pick for Roslovic is fine.

Hayes at significant retention for Roslovic is probably fine.

Hayes at significant retention and the pick for an actual prospect is fine.

This is way too much for way too little.

Also, Hayes may have Columbus on his no trade list.
No. Hayes was on a line with JG in college, they'd love to reunite.

Which is probably why CBJ is interested in Hayes, figure playing with JG would revive his career.
Roslovic could have significant value at the TDL, but I'm not paying to gamble on that.

I don't think Briere feels any pressure to dump salary, b/c they've been adamant they're not looking at high priced FA acquisitions - so he's working from a strong negotiating position.

So they’re interviewing Scott Mellanby for the POHO job. f***ing why? Habs we’re awful with him as head of player personnel and AGM. Eeek

Even if the Habs were awful for the entire 12-13 through 21-22 period, I wouldn't put the blame for that on the assistant. I don't think he was bossing Bergevin around.

I can do whatever I like on CapFriendly!

Absolute joke they didn't even give Tulsky a courtesy interview, while he may be the leading candidate for the Pittsburgh job.

Reminds me of when they didn't even bother to interview Jim Montgomery last summer. All he did was coach the Bruins to the best record in NHL history in year one there.

The ONE alumni they chose to ignore.

I read Pitt is also interested in Dubas if the Leafs let him go. Imagine bringing in a number of qualified outside candidates to interview for the GM position instead of shoehorning in your interim GM because he was groomed by the organization. :help:
