I can't even imagine why anyone would dislike TK.

He's skilled, he can snipe, he can pass, he's fast, he's tough, he's a menace on the ice, he's likable off the ice.
Apparently the coach thinks TK spends too much time during games watching the iPad, so he took them away. I mean, if TK is having a career year analyzing his last shift or missed chance, why let him keep doing it? The mind boggles....

ESTIMATING PROVOROV’S TRADE VALUE

THE PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER: Giana Han examined the pros and cons of the Flyers trading Ivan Provorov. The 25-year-old defenseman has recently become the subject of rumors suggesting it might be best for all concerned if he was traded to a playoff contender.

Han believes potential buyers would want to determine how much of Provorov’s struggles stem from himself or his current environment. With an annual average value of $6.75 million through 2024-25, he wouldn’t be a rental player. Given his age, he could still have some upside for contenders as a top-four blueliner.

NHL Network analyst Brian Lawton believes the Flyers shouldn’t trade Provorov for anything less than a first-round pick. He also thinks two other pieces should be included in the return. Han points out the Flyers aren’t under pressure to move Provorov by the March 3 trade deadline. However, they should be willing to listen to offers given their need to accumulate assets for the future.

THE SCORE: Josh Wegman lists the Los Angeles Kings, Edmonton Oilers, Detroit Red Wings, Ottawa Senators and Buffalo Sabres as five clubs that should try to acquire Provorov. He believes the Flyers defenseman would make a good consolation prize for teams that fail to acquire Jakob Chychrun. Provorov could also be more affordable to acquire than the Arizona Coyotes blueliner.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Time is on the Flyers’ side here. They can afford to wait for the offseason if they don’t get any suitable offers for Provorov before the trade deadline.

Provorov has heard the recent trade talk but insists he wants to remain with the Flyers. He lacks a no-trade clause so he won’t have any say in the matter if GM Chuck Fletcher (or his replacement?) decides to peddle him.

His contract offers interested teams cost certainty for the next two seasons. However, his cap hit could prove difficult to move this season given the high number of cap-strapped teams.
Heck, I don't even really like him, but I'd rather have Brian Lawton as the GM than ClusterChuck.

A fun example of the impact of development. TK's first coach banged safe perimeter hockey into him. The nature of AV's system resulted in reinforcement of those skills and instincts. It has taken a focused effort since last season to break TK of the habits developed into him by those coaches.

Development matters. How you train players to think and play matters. You can build or erode skills, and it isn't easy to get them back.

I dislike him cause he is not a top 5 pick . I have been told on here that really good players only come from top picks , you know guys like Patrick .

Yes this is sarcasm . Bite me

some chatter today that a deal with the Kings could be "close". We'll have to see about that.
I don't buy it that Chychrun is worth more than Provorov. At least Provorov is able to find his way onto the ice.

ASF Says on snow the goalie podcast that people are telling Dave Scott that Chuck needs to stay, others saying he needs to go, ASF believes Dave Scott doesn't know what to do. Which is just as bad as making a decision one way or the other, that you don't know who to trust in the franchise, there are people rooting for each other to fail within the organization, and that by doing nothing your leaving yourself in a spot where the team is going to be in the same exact spot as it was last year going into the off season.

In early November someone from the org sent him a text that said John Tortorella will not tell us how to manage our team, then a week ago that person talked glowingly about Torts and him knowing what this team needs going forward.

Wonder how much longer they hang on to Justin Braun. A guy who isn't playing, Torts said earlier today that he doesnt think its good for him to be out of the lineup but that its where the team is right now, thinks the other guys are all playing well together.

It's easy. Fire Fletcher, put the advisors out to pasture, if Torts is happy with Briere, make him the GM.

Torts is the only one from outside the echo chamber who can be objective about this team (they're not HIS players) and the one closest to the team who knows who is worth keeping and who should be jettisoned.

Chicago would be the last place..but Columbus is definitely 2nd...just not good for the league overall. Him and Gaudreau would be nasty together but it still wouldn't do shit to grow the game.
Agree on Chicago. f*** that POS org. Columbus just seems like such a "meh" team. Like, they're always there, but never really relevant. Sad that the Flyers are pretty much the same these days.

Why fire a guy who only made one (huge) mistake? Oh yeah, TORTS

Sounds like they’re building a winning culture.

Catering to a HC is a major reason that the Flyers are in this position in the first place.

They shouldn’t include Tortorella at all in this process. The potential new GM should have the option to fire Tortorella if he wants.

How anyone on this planet could view where the organization is and not be able to recognize that Fletcher needs to be blasted into the Sun is frankly amazing.

Lucky for us one of those people just happens to be the one in charge.

Coaches picking their bosses leads to losing and failure.
