What I honestly don't understand about the Regenda situation is the part about "it's not their job to get us out of that funk". Is it not a team? Can having a young promising player doing well have no galvanizing effect? Don't burden him specifically, sure, but the other young players are in the same situation. And if you scratch Regenda (or even Leason) you have to put someone there. It is Simon Benoit or Colton White's job to get the team out of the funk? I don't have a problem with sending Regenda down, and wish they'd done it sooner if they were going to scratch him, but the stated logic hits strange. Just say "well we can waive him" and be done with it.
Also, Eakins keeps calling out the veteran leadership, but other than the gimmick shuffle at the Rangers they've barely rotated the A's at all when we were led to expect they would. The consistency on that, combined with the frequent breaking up of lines that are performing well, gives off a real "the beatings will continue until morale improves" vibe. If they can sustain the better performance I guess it worked, but from the outside it's baffling.
