Ek didn’t seem any good when I saw him live before. Let’s hope Dostal can manage the reigns for a bit

Grant is supposedly on the trip, they were presumably planning to bring him off IR with Stolarz' roster slot. Can't do that now, so now we just have two more games in Canada with no spare forwards? Perfect, I'm glad the twelve we have are all healthy and in good playing shape.

*checks notes*

oh no

He’s literally never been that or said that. You’re getting tilted for no reason lol
Deeeeepbreath for me. I might just be riled up, true. I’ve still never cared for him. Maybe he’s a good guy, just not a good team insider.

Here's a bit from Zegras and McTavish:

When Frank Vatrano scored the Ducks’ second empty-net goal to ice the victory, Trevor Zegras was standing on the bench, waiting to put Vatrano in a headlock as he skated by. Once Vatrano had gone, Zegras began banging his stick against the boards.

He was happy.

If the feeling Zegras’ good friend Caufield had after the game is good for development, so is the feeling Zegras had after the game.

Except he hasn’t had it all that often this season. Neither has Mason McTavish, another core talent who will be important to the Ducks’ future. The two of them spoke in sombre tones after the Ducks’ morning skate Thursday about how this season has gone for them, a season that sounded like it was already over when there are still four months of hockey left to play.

“It’s tough,” Zegras said, something he has surely repeated countless times this season. “This is your every day, you kind of live this sport. When things aren’t going great, it’s easy to just kind of turn on each other and think of why is this happening to us? But all we have is each other at this point and we’re leaning on each other for pretty much everything.

“I guess when you think about the numbers and where we’re at and the standings and all that good stuff, you can kind of lose your mind in that just because, like I said, you live it every day. So, I think the biggest thing is we’ve got a great group of guys in here, we’re just going to stick together and gut this thing out.”

Gutting this thing out for four months can’t be good for development.

“It’s a tough mindset to have going into a season that it’s a developmental year, because we all grew up playing this game to win, and losing sucks, man,” Zegras said. “It’s not fun.”

McTavish, coming off winning MVP at the World Junior Championship for Canada in August, has had a hard crash from that high point in his career. He talked about trying to focus on the positives of his own development, but when asked whether that’s difficult when losses keep piling up, he couldn’t avoid the truth.

“You’re totally right there,” he said. “It’s nice to see you’re doing better and you’re feeling better. But when you’re losing, it’s definitely mentally tough. You’re always thinking about it. It just sucks, it’s a bad feeling.”

Just as an aside, these goofy ass articles of a writer of O6 team trying to belittle a newer small market team always make me laugh. Reeks of insecurity due to their lack of recent success

Yeah, I had a chuckle as well. Just trying to feel better of themselves no matter what, no wonder some of their fans feel very... privileged.

But good quotes from there at least
