It's pretty sad to know that by the time the Ilya Bryzgalov buyout ends in 2026-27, we still won't be a competitive team. Hell, since his signing in 2011 until 2027 when the buyout ends, we will have likely won a total of 2 playoff series.

The buyout option should help if there are multiple teams demanding an exorbitant price for taking JVR. They could end up with nothing if they all push too hard.

He has produced in the neighborhood of that pace whenever he's healthy and used correctly. That's why few of the non-Authentics are remotely surprised he put up 51 even on a terrible Arizona team.
