Rumor I saw on Facebook:

5 OA + Sanheim + Farabee + York for DeBrincat.

I think after this this year we may have shed enough talent to actually tank.

Even if it were

5 OA + (Sanheim OR Farabee OR York) = DeBrincat

I'm not sure if I do it.

Definitely not with Farabee in the package... that's just weakening our LW for a RW.

Better hang on to your hats, folks, I think this summer will get a little nuts.

Fletcher + Restless Fanbase + Desperate Scott x Unhinged Clarke = Maximum Pain.

Why would they trade for DeBrincat, pay him $9+M plus when they could just sign a FA and trade those guys for high draft picks?

If you're gonna start a rumor, at least have it make some sense.
DeBrincat is a liability on defense, he'll score but that's about it. He's definitely not a Torts kind of player.

Now is this the tea leaves speaking - even Meltzer is calling for a "do nothing" offseason:

I don't think this is a concerted campaign, rather, it's obvious this team isn't one or two players away from contending, so making "big moves" this summer would be counter-productive.

But if the media hacks say this, and Torts doesn't clamour for additions, Fletcher will have more leeway not to do things.
At some point Scott will get the message, and maybe without throwing a plate of food at the wall.

Torts kind of players really do not win you much at the end of the day. Who needs a skilled offensive 40 goal scorer.

It's a sad assed day when you read the stupidest possible trade proposals in the media and realize that the Flyers' GM is capable of making those moves.
For how bad as Chuck is that is just silly idea. Did anyone read what the source was???

Chucks actions will speak volumes. Do not care what him or the coach says at this point. What they actually do is what matters most. More leeway, comical as he is the fn boss.

What's a Tort's player?
Martin St Louis, Callahan, Panarin, Atkinson?

He has no problem with small, fast skilled forwards, as long as they work hard to get back on defense - he doesn't even ask them to hit anyone, just get back into position on defense and stick check and disrupt plays.

In fact, I think TK, once Torts works him over, will quickly become a Tort's favorite. His feisty, competitive streak will appeal to Torts.

Sometimes you need to let your offensive goal scorers do just that. Live with their alleged lack of defense. Play up to their strengths.

Have you checked the Blackhawk's record with Kane and DeBrincat?
Or maybe you missed the playoffs with the Avs playing defense?

yeah i missed it. Who won again? A good coach lets certain players do their thing and doesn't try to re-invent the wheel by altering their game.

Last I checked Kane has a few cups.

I am assuming this guy is not a real source? Would be interesting though to work a trade out with the Hawks for DeBrincat but this would be absurd.

Yes, it is satire, and hundreds of idiots fall for his posts every time lol

JMO but I don't see the Hawks trading off DeBrincat unless some team unloads a ton of talent in order to get him. He's up for a contract extension and probably wants to get into the $9M per range. That's a problem for the Hawks. Few teams are going to give up a lot of talent to take on that contract.

The evil gritty account is like a psyop funded to study the pervasiveness of confirmation bias in news and social media.
