Rico got depressed. That's why he got waived during the COVID season.

Fowler could be given the C.

How can the vets earn the C when the GM already excluded them? Even Strome can't earn the C.

What does that have to do with what I said? I said no one getting named captain doesn’t impact the morale/depression level.

After 3 games we're averaging 24 shots for (3rd worst in the league) and 43 (worst in the league) shots against.

Being outshot has been an issue for us in the past, but this year it looks like we're on another level. While things might and should improve, I don't see us drastically turning the page.
Well, Bedard and McTavish are really good friends so :sarcasm:

We need pure shooters on the team. It's like everyone is thinking 'pass first' instead of shoot first.

Makes me reminisce about Bruce even more!

The faster, the better! I know I'm being sadistic here but I do hope the Ducks go 0-5 this road trip so GMPVB can pull the trigger on him.
I dont expect this team to be pushing for a stanley cup, but i do expect them to be moving forward....they need to have direction and start playing to there strengths, there is no reason this team should be getting blown out of games multiple nights in a row......i really dont think easkins is "a good hockey mind", i think he is more "old school" in the sense that he likes to rely on hard work and being prepared to win hockey games, and when things are not going well then you "work harder".....i think hockey is moving away from "systems" play and moving more into a "concepts" age......i know that doesnt really make sense as "systems" will aways be apart of the game but its becoming less of a robotic way of playing, and moving into a instinctive/read style of the system....I dont think dallas see's things that way and I dont know if he gets a HC job in the NHL once he is gone.....this should be a time for guys like drysdale/zegras/terry/mact/etc. to play loose and experiment with there skill to develop that side of there game before they start to learn about being more responsible.....

There is no reason for this team to look that bad and lost on the ice and the fact that there seems to be zero chemistry among lines, dmen/forwards, zone play, coverage, etc. tells me there is a huge breakdown from coaching to players.

They haven’t been. They’ve lost 2 games in a row by 2 goals. Now, you can say that they’ve been outplayed significantly, but they‘ve Only been blown out 1 game out of 4.

Unsustainable if we continue playing like this and giving up this many shots. Our goalies will be broken down by December if not sooner.

If Barry Trotz is willing to coach this team pay him whatever he wants, there is absolutely zero structure for how this team plays, and then Verbeek has to make the team harder to play against, it's 4 games and i'm already sick of watching guys get physically dominated and pushed around

10000% make him the highest paid coach ever. Sign him long term and then announce the big two. Give the fans something to enjoy for awhile.

He told Winnipeg "thanks, but no thanks." Doubt he has any interest in coming here.

Yeah living in Winnipeg vs living in California couldn't be further from each other. Winnipeg is a depressing and miserable place. Not saying he would come here but I think many coaches wouldn't want to live in Winnipeg lol

I was making an inference about each team's roster. Not sure why you thought I was talking about living conditions between both cities.

Because where you live and have your family grow up/live is a big deal when deciding who to be employed with.... especially when signing a multiple year contract like professional athletes and coaches do.... What a concept 🤯

“We paid attention,” said a smiling Wild general manager Bill Guerin when asked about his interest in the league’s financial update and its potential salary-cap implications. “I don’t want to say too much about it, but we need all the help we can get. But that’s our personal problem.”

Can anyone breakdown our defense structure. Do we play zone or man to man? I feel like we play man to man and it creates confusion as guys chase their marks around the ice.

I thought Barry turned down the coaching offer(s) because he decided his heart/mind wasnt into it and wanted to spend time with family? I dont think it would matter if its Cali, NY or Canada, sounded like he just wanted family time.

Correct. Though It reminds me of when the Kings first hired Sutter. He was in a similar situation but got bored and the Kings convinced him to coach em.

Would certainly explain why we get killed on interchanges down low in the cycle game.
