Mintyukov’s team is in a very strange position. They weren’t expected to be that good, but they are leading their division. The 2 teams immediately behind them are going all in, but Saginaw hasn’t really added anyone. They have to balance trying to compete with maximizing Misa’s remaining OHL career. Would be very strange for the division leading team to sell Mintyukov, but that very well might be their strategy.

We will also see is Zellweger is playing for Everett later tonight.

EDIT: From what I’ve seen, pretty much none of the Canadian World Junior kids have played yet, so Zellweger not playing wouldn’t necessarily mean a trade is imminent.

There's the added wrinkle that they are bidding to host the mem cup next year (when Mintyukov surely won't be back). It makes most sense sell him and use the assets for the future, even if it's tough to do when having a good year.
