Finished with two assists in a 9-2 win. Luneau has an assist in his game so far.

Lacombe finished his game 1+1 today.

Kukkonen, janicke, and perbix all have assists in their game so far.
Warren pointless, but +1 and tied for most hits of the game (4)

Pastujov missed yesterday's game due to illness and is out of the lineup today as well.

Tschigerl has his second goal of the season today, now 2+9 in 10. He currently has a 7% shooting percentage, so some bad puck luck for him early on.

This was from his first game back:

He is at least a couple of years away but I'm very intrigued.

"Good 1st period for Noah Warren who returns to play for the @OlympiquesGAT. Always physically effective, involved offensively on occasion. He played with C-A Pilote on the 3rd pair, now seems back in his place with Olivier Boutin."

Warren is a potential Manson replacement. Something our system completely lacks. I’m definitely not moving him

I think there are couple other Manson-types in Thrun and Hinds, shutdown D with some offensive potential. I dunno about Helleson, but Verbeek praises his talents often. Helleson is a shutdown type D too. Thrun and Helleson played on team USA at the WJC-20 with another Ducks, LaCombe.

Thrun and Hinds has nowhere near the mean-ness that Manson had. The ability to be pissed off and beat the shit out of guys or make big hits

Warren MIGHT have it, at least he's hitting a lot.

You do know that Hinds hits a lot too, right? Doing research on Warren and Lamoureaux for the 2022 draft, I found these nuggets.

RD Warren, Hits Freq 2022.png

RD Warren, Puck Battle Eff 2022.png

RD Warren, DZ Puck Losses 2022.png

From the graphics above, we're fortunate to have both Hinds and Warren who love to hit and win puck battles. We don't have defensemen like that today. On a tangent, look who ranks #1 in DZ puck losses.

IMO, a Manson type is a shutdown top-4D with some offense. I don't know if any of the Hinds, Warren, or Thrun throw down. I have seen Thrun throw devastating checks in some highlight reel years ago. During this year's rookie tourney, Hinds was the most consistent D who would win puck battles down low and get the puck out quick. Hmmm...

From the Hockey Writers:

Hinds skates well and was a minutes eater for Rimouski Oceanic after being acquired from the Shawinigan Cataractes earlier this season. He’s not afraid to be aggressive in the offensive zone but can get caught out sometimes when he pinches too deep. This has led to odd-man rushes on several occasions.
Hinds doesn’t have a ton of upside, but he’s a dependable defender whose stature reminds me of current Ducks defenseman Hampus Lindholm. Hinds has a long way to go before he reaches the level of someone like Lindholm, but he has the tools to do so if he continues to develop at a positive rate.

From the draft analyst:

Part of Tyson’s aggressiveness carries over into his physical play. He will not only lean on opponents but also use his frame to send a physical message. Thus far in the defensive zone he has not taken himself out of position to make a huge hit. He remains under control, stays composed, and reads the play prior to announcing his presence. Hinds uses his large frame to provide his goaltender a clear view of the play. He uses his strength, reach, and nastiness to prevent opponents from establishing a net-front presence.
Hinds uses his long reach and stick to defend. Smacking pucks off sticks and deflecting or intercepting passes. Once he possesses the puck, he quickly transitions to offense. He reviews his options and quickly makes his decision. If need be, Hinds is comfortable using his legs to break down a forecheck, provide time and space, and create passing lanes. He will wheel out of a scrum with ease to commence a Rimouski breakout. If no passing lanes, he will skate it out of harm’s way starting the attack. Hinds is a multifaceted defenseman who appears to be scratching the surface.

First paragraph from THW screams Manson-like. The second paragraph from THW surprises me. The draft analyst reaffirms more of Lindholm's type of game play, which we did see at this year's rookie exhibition. Guess I stand corrected about Hinds not being a Manson-type.

Imo a Manson type is a very physical defensive defenseman, Warren is probably our best shot at that. Both Thrun and Warren are physically involved but lack that same brutality. Although Thrun does throw a really mean hit a few times every year. Hinds does really well at throwing hits that separate the puck possessor from the puck but from my viewing they do lack the bone crushing effect. Even Warren will have to get meaner to have the same affect as Manson in his prime.

Latest update on prospects: NA, non-pro

The Ducks have more ppg scorers on this table than non ppg players. What is surprising is the number of defenseman scoring at a ppg or more rate.

Prospect update: Pros or Euro

All of the Ducks' goalie prospects aren't looking great except for Buteyets. Buteyets' team hasn't played in a while and the next game is Nov 2.

Regenda has finally been sent down to the AHL after being a healthy scratch for three consecutive NHL games. The healthy scratch wasn't due to his play, but rather to protect Regenda from terrible team play as per Eakins.

In the AHL, the top-2 scoring prospects are LW Tracey and C Groulx. Perreault has been shuttered from scoring much. Regenda may help improve overall scoring for the team.

Not sure how easy that game will be to translate to the NHL

I'm more concerned that he bulks up more so that he's got a chance to displaying that talent at the NHL level for a long while. Drysdale's injury on what looked like a normal hit really make me hope the org does not put Zell in the NHL next season, but stew in the AHL for a season or two so his body can tolerate the violence.

Yep no reason to do the FowlerDrysdale thing with Zellweger.
Twice rushing a ultra soft Dman i hope the Ducks have learned their lesson.
Drysdale probably should have spent 2 years developing instead of going straight to the NHL.
