B Sens have given up 54 goals in 13 games, 4.15 GA/GP

They scored 44 goals so -10 goal differential despite being 6-6-1

They bleed way too many goals against. Only the Monsters and the Griffins seem to be as bad defensively

Edit : our prospects have good stats so far though (* Rookies)

Sokolov 12 pts in 13 GP
Greig* 8 pts in 9 GP
Lodin* 5 pts in 6 GP
Daoust* 5 pts in 6 GP
Crookshank* 9 pts in 13 GP
Jarventie 5 pts in 8 GP
Reinhardt 8 pts in 13 GP
Thomson 8 pts in 13 GP
Guenette 4 pts in 13 GP
Rubins 4 pts in 13 GP
JBD 1 pt in 8 GP (only one with the big club at the moment)

Do people who watch every game in Belleville like the progression of Greig, Sokolov, Crookshank etc?

I was looking at some stats last night as well and while not 100% it seems the trend of higher scoring is in the AHL as well. ***I have done no analysis on it, just quick look at scorers***

That said, Greig, Lodin and Crookshank seem to be adjusting well. It's very early but if they all end up near PPG that is great.

Daoust could surprise and then once back healthy hoping Jary takes another step but I expect him as an AHLer 1 more year anyway.

What do Belleville fans think of Cole Reinhardt these days?

Not a very spoken about prospect but I remember hearing/reading that the Sens liked him quite a bit a couple of years ago. Even got a game in last year.

Does this guy have any potential in a bottom 6/4th line role at the NHL level? Has pretty good size and has been producing at respectable levels in the AHL while still being pretty young (22)

Thanks

Roster Notes: for tonights game against the Marlies

There aren’t any anticipated roster changes for the Senators following Wednesday’s win over Cleveland. Coach Troy Mann will likely keep the line of Sens prospects Ridly Greig, Angus Crookshank, and Egor Sokolov together, after the trio has clicked for 12 points over the past three games. Defenceman Xavier Bernard will dress again, with Jacob Bernard-Docker and Jacob Larsson both called up to Ottawa. Kyle Betts and Jared Lukosevicius will be the uninjured scratches for Belleville tonight.

Injury Report:

Screen Shot 2022-11-17 at 11.52.33 PM

Who to Watch:

Sens rookies Ridly Greig and Philippe Daoust are coming off strong performances against Cleveland this week. Greig had two goals and an assist, stretching his point streak to a season-long three games, while Daoust has points in four-of-six games he’s played this season, including a power play goal last game.

Former Peterborough Petes standout Semyon Der-Arguchintsev’s personal point streak has stretched as long as his team’s. He extended his eight-game run of points in Grand Rapids last weekend, with two goals and two assists over Toronto’s two-game set with the Griffins.

Follow the action:

Tonight’s game begins at 7:05 p.m. (ET) and can be seen on AHL TV, or heard live on the Belleville Sens Entertainment Network.

It seems the parent team the Ottawa Senators & their farm team the Belleville Senators have that in common, both make way too many mistakes & give the puck away with regularity & allow to many goals against. If both teams could ever improve their defensive game both teams would be much better & both likely would be playoff teams, it seems like the only thing stopping them is their shoddy defensive play.

Didn't know that Max Lajoie is the captain of Carolina's AHL affiliate. This post also mentions Troy Mann

Weekend notebook: Lajoie leading pack of young Wolves

Lajoie played for head coach Troy Mann for a portion of his tenure with Belleville, and cites him as a strong influence in his development.

“I would say [Mann] was really one of the best coaches I’ve had,” Lajoie said. “He taught me how to be a good pro on and off the ice. Just the way he carried himself as a coach, he was very approachable, and he was kind of a player’s coach at the same time. But you had a bunch of respect for him because he just wants you to work hard. He was amazing.”
