For sure. I just don't think any of our other high costing forwards are movable. MacK and Nuke just signed deals, no way you ship them out. Landy has NMC until off-season 2025. Lehks is playing so well for only 4.5M. If you move D, our D depth will be fked, and with addition of another forward taking 9M of the cap, the D will quickly get even worse. That all is why the only choice left to move is Rants. And we should not do that, he is one of the best wingers in the league. I don't care how important centers are.

Just get a rental C instead.

If Girard is traded out(Whether part of a Horvat trade or in a separate deal), and the cap does go up to $86.5M... The Avs would be able to afford a 2C for up to ~8M and make it work.

The cap is there for that amount.
