I personally don’t mind DNVR, but I find there post game content is typically not worth the listen. Half the time people are screaming in the background, they’re talking about how they hate shot X and Rudo is on his way to blackout. Now there’s obviously a bit of a difference between listening along during the post game and listening at 8am on a Monday, but it’s usually a tough listen regardless imo.

For example the Barn Burner Podcast that is Flames based is, in my opinion one of the better hockey podcasts I have listened to. Part of that is because they are all former employees from the Fan960 morning show, but they both talk intelligently about the game and shoot the shit about food and other sports.

I feel like the extended breaks were a blessing for Rudo. Dude is not doing his liver any favors. Dude was HOT yesterday that half the set hated Jäger.

At this point, I don't see any way he doesn't get at least 9 if he hits UFA. If he's traded and extended, you might see low 8s over 8 years. In the last two full seasons he's has 27 and 31 goals... 30+ looks very likely unless he gets injured. Paces 60+ points and reached it once (likely to reach again this year). Plus he'll be 28 when the new contract kicks in. Many teams are still not believers in the 30+ drop, so they see it as an opportunity where ~6 years are prime years. Horvat is gonna get paid.

All that said, he'd probably be worth it to fit into a team. Yeah he's likely to regress back to a 20-25g 30a guy... but he's a legit top 6 center and in a few seasons, any of those are going to be 8+ regardless. It won't be a 'value' contract, but market value.

I'd have to see more of his play, but I keep reading that despite the fact that he's winning faceoffs at will (and everyone knows how much I love faceoff wins) and scoring practically every game, he's not winning puck battles and his attention to defense is lackadaisical at best.

Either way, dude is going to score a big contract.

Yes, they seem to be getting a little better with this.

I know I sent quite a few remarks myself their way that they seriously needed to watch back their podcasts and see how bad the issue was with Jesse and AJ just talking over anyone else.

There’s no real option outside of Toews now…

If they don’t repeat this year, ignoring the 2C position this summer (and ignoring the C position in general the last couple years) will be the culprit.
