Trading Girard and not getting a surefire 2C back would be extremely risky. Pinto might have potential, but Avs can't afford to bet on potential in the last year of MacKinnon's good contract and Byrams ELC.

Those extra picks/prospects aren't the sort of assets that entice a team trading a 2C at the deadline either, even if they're solid assets.

Hamonic has wanted to stay in Canada to be close to his family, and has an 8 team NTC, so he probably wouldn't be too happy to be in Colorado.

Maybe I'm being a bit negative there but that's my first impression anyhow.

He actually can be...

I'm curious how George translates to being a full time starter. He has some real talent, but he hasn't ever shown much consistency and at times he looks Miska bad. He can also remind you of Varly sometimes.

He played great during a long stretch as a starter last season. I doubt Sakic would have signed him if he were trash

Francouz went 6-0 so Kuemper lost 4 of 14, not 4 of 20. Also, Avs won a lot of games in spite of Kuemper rather than because of him.

Anytime he’s had starter stretches of games he’s been solid. Pro scouts are the best in the business so I’ll be here to remind everyone they’ve been surprised by Georgie

Norris
Compher the Hart
Art Ross

The NHL finally got the memo and changed the name of the Hart to “Compher the Hart.“. This is a change we’ve all been waiting for. It’s also the only realistic interpretation of what your wrote.

Which means they’ll try JTC, Meyers and Newhook down the middle and reassess at the deadline.

Imagine the cap savings if one of those guys works out.

He’s never had it for long enough to really evaluate that. He’s also mentally weak. He does have talent. We will see what happens.

Actually… almost none. If any of them work out in that role, they get paid very quickly for working in that role.
