I don't know about improve. He might be looking for exactly what Kuemper can provide and at the same cost or close to it. Kuemper obviously isn't going to cost what he did this past season where Arizona ate half his cap hit.

That's why I really do think a guy like James Reimer is a possibility. Only 1 year left at 2.25M. If Sakic has ideas of making the roster just as good next season as it was this past season he needs to find a goalie as cheap as Kuemper was.

They were saying Tampa had a verbal agreement from Columbus that they'd take McDonagh if Tampa put him on waivers. So Tampa went to McDonagh and told him 'you either accept the trade to Nashville or we put you on waivers and you go to Columbus'

I'd say Reimer and Allen are both darkhorses, but possible on the trade market. Avs would have to strike out a few times, but those guys are the 1B to pair up with Frank if things get desperate.
