Yep, it's that time of the year when GM's lose their mind and money seems fake. Then in 3 months they wake up saying "what the heck did I do?"Gaudreau turning down (or not yet accepting) $9.5M/yr is wild to me. If he can get more then good for him but damn. With everything on the line, I'd take Nichushkin over him in a playoff game and he might get almost twice as much on the open market.
It's like they don't look at the player they are paying compared to others. Johnny G is a good player. Not a great player. Not a franchise player. So why is he being paid like one? More than Makar? More than what 96% of the forwards in the league? Joke
Thank God for Sakic and him being able to keep his head straight and walk away from some of these contracts.
