I'm very curious to see what Toronto does in goal and how their fanbase will react to it (poorly I suppose no matter what happens). Not too many options left. Sign Campbell for 5x6 and run with Wall/Källgren as the backup?

Speaking of Dater, here's some more baseless speculation for ya

50/50!? Hot take, Dater...

In all seriousness, we know Sakic and Manson's agent met yesterday. I feel like no deal done is the kiss of death, just like with Kuemper. I could be wrong but I feel like once Sakic hears numbers/term he doesn't like from secondary players, he moves on.

I think it’s in par that. But I also think that right now, in terms of priority, Manson isn’t near the top. It’s hard for Joe to fully commit to Manson until he knows where Nuke, Georgiev and Lehkonen fall in. Then he’s gotta manage the remaining spots on the roster with remaining money.
There are definitely some UFA options to replace Manson. So good on Joe to get some numbers from Mansons camp, but ultimately, he won’t be able to make a decision until he’s got other numbers in place.

Manson should be up there in priority right behind nuke. Especially with goal trending being a question never year. Doubt we find a better option in FA without over spending. I’d like to see how Bo handles a full season before thinking out D is set

You have Georgiev, Nuke, Lehkonen and a 2C as priority IMO. What do all those pieces cost cap-wise...

I'd much rather skimp on the replacement for Manson than the replacement for Kadri

If true this is piss-poor planning by a GM.

Bah, I'm not convinced Fitzgerald is a good GM but I don't see this as a big deal. I think I read somewhere that Yzerman wanted to trade down from No. 6 in 2019, but upon finding no suitors said, f*** it, just take the player he wants, who happened to be Seider. Pretty much the same thing happened here.

They made no secret of their desire to move up and take Slafkovsky, that obviously didn't happen because Montreal wanted him, but at the time they couldn't have known for sure who Hughes was taking.

There will be a ton of trades during the draft, they said. Tkachuk! Tarasenko! Chychrun! Gibson! Miller!
