No points for Othmann tonight on 4 shots. He was -1 in a 6-2 loss.

Peterborough down 3 games to 2 with game 6 Sunday night.

With Cuylle getting good minutes in the AHL top 2 lines, I really think his upside is 3rd liner in Ryan Clowe type. It would be a waste for him to just get 4th line minutes next year. Brodzinski top line player for Hartford but NHL 4th liner, dont want Cuylle to get that treatment. Put him in a spot to succeed. He is a young player with a future not some AHL vet with no NHL future.
Ryan Clowe was much more than a 3rd liner. He was an underrated player. If Cuylle gets to that level then the pick was a home run.

shellacked...if they got knocked out safe to assume he'd still head to hartford?

Encouraging that Othmann is having a big playoffs after a lackluster regular season.

He starts in Hartford next year but is called up by Thanksgiving and sticks, IMO.
I would prefer he stays in the ahl until new years at least to get top 6 minutes instead of being buried on our roster bc if we have learned anything at the nhl level it is that young skill players have to "wait their turn" and will be buried for quote awhile. would like to see him have ample opportunity to develop his offense at the pro level

Unless Canada wants him for WC(unlikely tho)
But hoping they'll win out g's 6,7 and keep going

yea ideally he goes on a memorial cup run....not even sure he'd get in the lineup in hfd, though if it happened the higher ups might not give the coaches there any choice.

My guess is, if/when he joins Pack, and all stay healthy, after a few practices, he replaces Triv in lineup, for at least a couple games' trial.
Team lacks a sharpshooter besides Paju

sucks trivigno has been on the fringes of the lineup. was really hoping he'd be a key piece there this year and on the shortlist of potential callups. rangers are desperate for a guy with his skillset - speedy forecheck buzzsaw/turnover generator with enough skill to play up the lineup. most of the time no one goes in after the puck, or they can't get to the puck, and they can't skate the puck into space and pull teams out of position if they do. thought he had a chance to be that guy, maybe another year in hfd.

anyways on the original subject, i don't watch hfd much, but looking at their roster othmann's skillset seems like it could help them.

I dont see why the Rangers never tried to sign him. I always thought he had potential
I believe deep in all the NYR prospects.
and Happy for him, to get some Back Aces time w Cats.
But during his seasons postdraft, til rights expiry, Calle Sjalin was a parttime, unexceptional prospect.
Just me, but i am way way more questionning of not signing Grubbe...

Jax in trouble after being swept at home (but we know about how that might go...)

Too tough physical and hard working for this soft core
