Gotta think a coaching change will be forthcoming.

Hard to imagine HuGo letting this continue much longer

If they get rid of JF Houle mid-season, I expect one of the assistants to be named interim coach. And in the off-season, they will do a deeper coaching search.

Steve Hartley is now available after being fired at Drummondville. But I don't know enough about his coaching style to know if they can bring him in mid-season and have a more in sync game plan as MSL.

Heck, I hear both Joel Bouchard AND Guy Boucher are available right now, one of them might want their old job back :sarcasm:

Guy Boucher might be great. But I think he's making more money with rds and has an infinitely lower work load. The AhL head coach job is such an important one for an organization. But it doesn't come with much fanfare or accolades. But for example a good development coach could have huge impact on Justin Barron's career, which would be huge for the organization. It's a very imposition in the organization.

No don't want him, he wasn't fired for nothing. If we hired someone from the Q, in my eyes, it's need to be Stéphane Julien. I prefer keeping JF Houle then getting Hartley

We could go with the outside of the box hired like with MSL and go with someone like Jason Pominville who is available. Could be someone who is a development coach

Is Anthony Richard a legit prospect? Herb Zurkovsky wrote a very glowing article about him in today's Gazette. I heard he had a great camp this fall also.

He's a soon to be 26 years old with 379 AHL games. He's a lot closer to what Belzile/Darche were than an actual prospect.

Good AHL vet though.

He has wheels and desire and a decent shot

i would love to see if MSL can help him learn to find space and make passes.

I think he will get a chance sometime this season due to inevitable injuries.

Just like Belzile got NHL games late in his career.

Richard is not a prospect.

Not for a big role, but he could be a fourth liner with a bit more offence than the list of guys we have with zero goals.

Belzile does not have NHL speed. Richard has a lot of speed.

I liked Richard in pre season he's tenacious enough to play on the 4th line and bring grit and scoring. We have yet to have a 4th line with an identity maybe he's part of it.

Nice goal Martel

So Sabourin spears in the groin Simoneau then jumps Martel. Anthony Marcotte is saying word is spreading around the league that you can just walk over the Rocket in impunity.

Saulnier was traded to Belleville after an ECHL stint so no more tough guys on the team. Some weird stuff is going on in Laval, Saulnier has 1g 5a in 6 games with Belleville (lucky streak probably but still the guy was considered not good enough for Laval).

At this point clearly sending talented prospects to Laval would be risky, especially Slaf that would be a huge target.
