Laval always seems to have underwhelming veterans. Where are the PPG players other teams seem to find? I appreciate them giving jobs to local guys but when it comes at the expense of BPA, something is wrong in the priorities. Hard to imagine players prefer playing in BFN over living in Montreal and playing in Laval. The support cast is poor amongst the non veterans as well. Hard to put the blame on the coaching and prospects.

Next year should be different with Mesar, Roy, Kidney, probably Farrell, maybe Tuch. Thats a huge load of young talent up front. Right now the farm is barely watchable, Ylonen has to do more, but he is stuck with grinders. Norlinder has some nice flashs as well.

Considering that numbers he put up in Laval last season, Poulin has looked terrible in nets so far this season. 0-3 and a 4.04 gaa and .870 sv%...ouch.

The same was said this year with Guhle, Slaf, Barron, Xhekaj, Harris, but all but one are in the NHL. So it's hard to complain about the prospects on Laval, when actually they all made the NHL. What team do you know that have so many rookies in the NHL, and a lot of great prospects in the AHL too? Not many...

Also in your list for next year you forgot Mailloux and Heineman. Real exciting, but some will indeed start in the NHL

If they fire Houle at the end of the season, would't be surprise if Stéphane Robidas is the Head Coach of the Rocket next year and he's learning with MSL so he can replicate that in Laval.
MSL bring him to work with. I’m not sure he will be in favor to lose him for Laval. And pretty sure trainers prefer to work as assistant coach in the nhl over to be head coach in the AHL…

Having Guhle, Xhekaj, Harris doing well in the NHL is good news, I dont know why you bring that point, Im not saying we have a crappy prospects pool, thats quite the opposite, I think we are top 3, top 5 in the league, the point was that they were not in Laval, especially our best fowards prospects, that the farm was loaded of AHL vets, the reason why I find they are not really fun to watch.

I named the fowards prospects that I expected to play in Laval next year, Im expecting Heineman to crack the Habs and Mailloux is a defenseman as I as I know, the reason why I didnt name him.

Marlies tonight let's hope for a strong home game and a win.
Leafs at the 50 contract limit so they can't sign anyone. Would love to poach the Marlies goalie Petruzelli who is on an AHL only deal by signing him to an NHL contract instead. Big boy 6.
foot 5. who has been good at every level so far and only 23.

Houle era ain't gonna last long, thankfully.
I'm starting to asking my self if he will finish the year. He wasn't HuGo man but they didn't have the choice to keep him after there playoff run.

One outside the box candidate (since they seem to like that type of hire) that I thought about and I would be really curious to see what he can do is Jason Pominville. I listen to him in his segment at the radio and he's really articulate and it's easy to see that he knows his hockey and he's coaching Bantam and Midget so he's fine !

I'm sure they'll start having conversations with potential options and scouting that landscape. Houle isn't their guy and he isn't doing what they want a development coach to do.

The playoff run was really fun last season, but I sure can't say I've ever been a fan of Houle's style of hockey. To be fair though it's not his fault that most of the vets have been underperforming. There's only so much a coach can do in the AHL, he's pretty much stuck with what he has to play with and he has very little control over the roster. I just wish his brand of hockey wasn't so darn boring to watch.

If Laval continues to lose at this rate, what changes or exchanges would be beneficial?
