They gave Vrbetic #99. Lmao

EDIT: Nevermind, reporting error on AHL website. He has #35.

I asked Marcotte if Poulin was hurt because I was wondering why they recalled Vrbetic.

He told me they called him up so they can have 2 goalies at practice when Primeau was up with the Habs on Monday. And that Vrbetic will be sent back down to 3R this week (as their season starts on Friday).

I don't understand why they keep so many forwards with the team instead of sending them to ECHL. I think that Teasdale should be playing hockey right now with so much injuries in the last few years instead of warming the bench, send him and Abbandonato to Trois-Rivières and keep Dubé and Saulnier as extra.

Teasdale would have to agree to go to 3R. He's no longer on an ELC, so the Habs/Rocket can only send him down if he accepts.

Abbandonato & Saulnier are on AHL deals so they can be sent down with no issues.

Dubé is signed to a PTO with Laval. So I don't think they can send him down because he's not really on a contract. Only a temporary one but with the AHL team.

3R own his ECHL rights. So if at some point they sign him to an AHL deal, they can send him down to 3R. But I believe as long as he's on a PTO with the Rocket, he can't be sent down.

Very weird of Laval to tweet out the recall of Emile Poirier and then 2 minutes later tweet out his mutual contract termination lmfao.
Poirier was one AHL vet too many. He has played more than 320 AHL or higher level games.

Had his recall been so that he could actually play (which frankly made no sense given the number forwards Laval has), Laval would have had to sit one of the following each game:

Richard (320+ AHL or higher level games)
Martel (320+)
Bourque (320+)
Bowey (320+)
Belzile (260-319)
Leskinen (260-319)

All those guys bring more to the club than Poirier, so what would be the point? Hearing that Poirier is actually terminated makes more sense.

Yeah it makes sense just no idea why they tweeted the recall prior to tweeting the termination.

I’m impressed Laval didn’t need Mesar’s offence…

Edit: it seems it was the plan all along. Him having a bad camp is too much of a convenient excuse. Probably Laval didn’t have much say…

I was so busy at work today that I had forgotten Laval played tonight. And so I didn't start a GDT. They're playing Bridgeport Islanders.

They're down 3-1 with a few minutes left in the 2nd.

Richard scored his 1st of the season assisted by Stephens.

Former Rocket Chris Terry, who plays for Bridgeport, has a goal and assist so far.

5-2 final.

- Richard scored his 1st goal.
- RHP scored his 2nd goal.
- Stephens with an assist on both goals.
- Belzile with the other assist on RHP's goal.

Poulin was the goalie.

So is Laval going to suck this year then?

Not a huge fan of the D. With Norlinder, Leskinen, Barron & Trudeau that's a lot of inexperience for AHL D.

Bowey & Green have been ok, I guess. Really wish we kept Belpedio. I feel like we need a defensive anchor back there. He was solid.

I liked Dello a lot better when he was lower in the lineup.

Primeau is looking like one of the very early bright spots during a rough start to the season.

Only 5 games but was hoping for a lot more from Mysak and Barron in particular. There is time though.

I agree on Primeau, very encouraging.

Barron is playing like a very young Petry, full of brain farts. Still, he is not even 21 yet. There is still lots of hope for him.

Mysak is a smart player, but I'm not sure he has the skating to do well at higher levels.

Pretty sure they would have to cut some of their guys to fit the roster limit if Laval send more guys down.
