It's 5 picks + Foote, who is likely valued as around a 3rd.

I mean, hey, we will hope to enjoy it, but wow.
Like I have been saying, on the surface its a shocker but breaking it down. What did JBB really give up? A player who we all agree pretty much sucks, and bunch of magic beans that we don't need now for a cup. I just feel everyone is in the shocked phase before actually breaking it down and realize we didn't really give up much and nothing that we need at all right now.

Our biggest loss from this trade is no capital to get another defenseman, and the fact management looked at our D and went "this is fine".

I think it's more because, while a 1st has some value, we TB fans are okay with giving them up. because of the odds on them resulting in an equal player are low. And because we have historically done better in the mid-rounds anyway. But this is pretty much throwing in the towel on the post Hedman/Stamkos prime, for a guy who's likely to play on the third line.

Nobody has an issue with Foote. Even Foote + 1st. But we added 4 picks to that.

Last year was a deep and coming out of it was insanely impressive off back to back cups but this has to be one of the most stacked conferences of all time. Teams are absolutely loaded in the East right now, you can bet Carolina is making a big move before the deadline as well.

One more d-man and we're set. Guessing Howard and Alnefelt could be in play. Namestnikov or Myers would need to be traded for anything to happen though.

I do wonder what would happen if someone offers a 1st or more for Killorn though.

What kind of D do you all think management is looking to add?

As a Ducks fan part of me is curious if they would at all be interested in bringing back Shattenkirk since he was on the 2020 cup team. However, I don’t know if his skill set is what they would be looking for.

Wouldn't mind moving any combo Myers, Names, 2nd in 2025, Fortier or Koepke as well in an attempt to get a RD capable of 15mins a night. I'm not sold on Cernak next to Hedman and we don't necessarily have confidence Perbix plays against top competition in a best of 7 shift after shift. Bogosian up there is scary.

Not sure what RD options there are at the moment but we need a 2020 Bogo type addition. Even postseason form Savard wasn't the worst.

Trevor Van Riemsdyk and Nick Seeler would be the two at the top of the realistically affordable list that could play top 4 minutes imo. Nick Jensen is probably out after what they paid for Jeannot(and he'd be a straight rental anyway). Seeler has another year at just 775k as well, which is a great cap fit for Tampa as well. TVR is 950k, then ufa, but perhaps Tampa could re-sign him. There are others such as Nick Holden, Justin Braun, Joshua Brown etc., but they are more #7 types imo. Sean Walker from L.A. is another possibility, but I'm not as sold on him.

If we got TMFVR, I will be the most unbearable poster on our boards. I will just officially change over to the Church of our Lord and Saviour, TMFVR.

Hey if Foote is no more than a bottom pair or 7th guy how difficult is it to take 5 picks and get a 3rd liner that’s is going to be a 10-20 guy that’s just used for grit. JBB got Hosed. There is just no way around it. If he got spooked needing to be heavier because of the Leafs, hell got out and trade a 3rd and get a knuckle dragged. The more it sinks in the worse this looks.

I personally would also be very happy with 2 New Jersey guys in the lineup. Hope you Tampa folks know that feel eventually when we finally get our own Nathan Smith, Sasha Pastujov, or Seamus Casey, and those guys are becoming more and more common each draft.

Good acquisition for you guys. Tbh 2 picks more than needed, but i think your GM understands value in need for today, he can always acquire picks in 2 yrs if things go south. I know we have ROR but he's not the 28 yr old Conn Smythe ROR, it's 32 yr old ROR who wasn't a great skater to begin with, just awful now. Jeannot puts you guys in a better position for sure, adding to an already strong Forward group with Hagel hitting his stride, Paul having a year with club and Cirelli looking like himself after significant time off...and your good D core and obviously the best goalie in the league. Going to be a tough first round again. Toronto & Tampa looking to grab whatever D depth available, but won't make significant impact.

You guys. What about this as our avatar theme? From trading 5 draft picks to cap circumvention to winning the Stanley Cup. If we could somehow make JFBB's face look like this and use 3 Stanley Cups to censor the bad word...
