Somebody in this thread floated this idea like a month ago. Was it FP? DistantThunder? Whoever it was, good call.

Coming from Weekes and Friedman, so this is probably in the bag. Weeke legitimized himself a few years ago when he broke like every trade on TDL day.

Happiest guy on the team is probably Corey Perry, because this means he doesn't have to fight all the battles for guys 8 and 10 years younger than him anymore.

Feels kind of like a Paul move more than Hagel. We will have to sign him. Gotta think the Preds wouldn't mind Namestnikov if they're selling off. He has became a sort of "hold us over until we're good again" player.

So any decent projections on what Jeannot would cost to retain past this season?

They wouldn't get him and let him walk, so they definitely plan on extending him. I just worry about keeping both him and Colton.

Can't see us getting him without plans to extend him. Probably depends a lot on what he does in the playoffs.

I could dig that for Jeannot, but I think Colton is getting $3.5mil at worst, probably closer 4.

Paul got $3.1 and his career high in points was 32. Colton had 39 points last year while averaging 2-3 minutes less ice time

At least we have something to cheer for tonight. Unless the Penguins drop 7 goals on us in trade negotiations just to be pricks.

Looking at our cap space we got like 9 million to get all our contracts done this offseason

Tampa will have ~10.3 to ~11.3 available for next year, depending on if they keep Fleury and Myers. They'll need to sign either 7 or 8 players to get to at least a 21 player roster(the least they'd probably run with). If Colton and Jeannot take 5.5ish, and let's say they get Lafferty as well for 1.125, then that's ~3.7-4.7 left. Just as an example, if they get a dman like Seeler, who makes 775k next year, now they have 3-4 left. A backup G for around 900k, now a little over 2 to 3. A 7th dman like Fleury or Foote eats up 762 to maybe a million, and then a 12th F for whatever is left(probably around 1.25 or so). It will be close, but at least getting to 21 is doable. Names, PEB and Perry are likely gone(although maybe they can keep Perry).
