Perfect time to go get Horvat. Make them think that 1st might be really high.

If this season is a bust I could see then giving Bends the boot. You can't lose to these dog shit teams when you have 2 of the top 5 players in the world on your roster and some other studs

They better not trade that 1st pick at the deadline if they aren't in a playoff spot. I don't care if it's a wasted year in the window, don't push your chips if you don't have a hand.
Yeah, if they can't find the right deal that makes them legit, hold your cards. They basically can write the future this off season.

I f***en hate EJ and his $6M.
Last thing you should worry about. Getting rid of EJ was expensive, and painful to the real human element in this. I get why they didn't. Especially looks at what they probably actually knew about injuries.

I feel like in a way, someone knew this season was a bust, unless we could make the playoffs and be healthy.

But I think they're prepared to write this season off.

You can just protect it. All joking aside there’s no point tanking this year when the Avs have no 2nd,3rd or 4th and they won’t be low enough to get Bedard.

As long as it is protected if we don't make the playoffs. I'm talking I'm keeping it if we're drafting like 16 in this draft. If we can trade that pick or move up, or whatever we can play the draft game.

2 regulation wins in the last 19 games…

Definitely shouldn’t be trading that 1st rounder.
Thats unreal. I had to look it up. Its true. Wow. This is 16-17 levels of bad and its not going to stop on Saturday.

They dont have a say in that. They are that bad and I personally dont see them getting out of this. This is almost exactly what Vegas went through last season.

We don´t need a 2C anymore....

We wont be buyers, we will be sellers, Ladies and Gentleman. ;)

So what trade-material do we have?

Difference is, the Knights went 43-31-8; a poor season by their standards, but still a respectable 94 pts. I don't see the Avs winning 24 more games this season, especially with them presently struggling mightily to win even a single game against anyone, including the worst of the bottomfeeder teams. Unless there's some unexpected awakening by the Avs real soon, I see them finishing this season hovering around the .500 mark; in fact probably a little below .500. Either way, they're not making the playoffs. The Avs have not shown any indication of pulling out of this malaise, and I expect it to continue in the weeks ahead. .

The thing about tonight’s loss. It’s not like the big guys didn’t produce. MacKinnon, Makar, and Rantanen were each on the score sheet.

Moving EJ in summer and making a trade for #2 center might have saved us for playoffs. In hindsight it was a huge mistake.

(Not that in our current form we would go deep in playoffs..)

We haven't seen our forward core healthy yet this season. We're missing 13M between Landy and Nuke. Of course the team isn't gonna look like a cup team. You take two top forwards out of any team and they won't look like a cup team.

When can we admit they just aren’t playing well?

Look what they’re getting from their depth… that’s the real issue

I don't think anybody here is saying they should look like a Cup team today, but they should look like a playoff team. Only 1 win since the Christmas break is very bad. In the 20 games that have been played Since the calendar turned over to December, 8-10-2 is pretty bad. Especially when you consider the regulation win stat.
