Listening to Talking Hockey Sense podcast about college free agents. They did not feel it was a strong crop, but some interesting notes. They mentioned Tampa as one of the teams years ago who had a dedicated scout for undrafted free agents (roaming college, CHL, and Europe). They mentioned how Minnesota State always has a defenseman that rises to the top like the Livingstone kid this year. They mentioned Mackey we got in the Calgary trade as another Minnesota State undrafted free agent. They surmised that sometimes you hit on these players and get a Brandon Tanev, Tyler Bozak, JT Brown, and Tyler Johnson. But for the most part teams are filling out AHL teams to add depth. Some names with a lot of buzz in the scouting community - Hunter McKown, Sam Malinski, Jaxon Nelson, Victor Östman, Jacob Bengtsson, and TJ Hughes.

Congrats to Lutz for his first goal of the season

baby Doaner heating up - well over 1.5pts per game in his last 10 games and now basically has the same point totals as last season on a worse team - great to see. Wonder if he will be coming out or spending one more year at ASU?

It seems like ASU is gonna take another step back next season, right? Scary. I think they really had the tiniest window to perform to the level need to perform in order to recruit to the level they need to recruit. And it feels like they missed both by just a half a step. And it’s going to be slow building again. Do I have that right?

I haven't seen the new recruitment prospects so not sure, they only have 3 players on the team worth anything Doan, Mastrisimone and the goalie Semptimphelter...if they're going to really compete, they need to have atleast 6 or 7 of those guys.

Better sign Raty. This team cant afford to lose young talent for free.

That would be fantastic if Geekie and Lam have big seasons next year while we’re watching the new crop of 23 picks. Space out the talent’s progression

Knock on wood, but I'll be seeing the Spicy Dyl, Lambert, Korchinski, etc and the Seattle Thunderbirds vs the Portland Winterhawks 3/18....the night the Winterhawks are retiring Cam Neely's jersey along with 3 others.
