Leibo hasn’t been sent down. At least not yet. If he clears waivers he may be sent down.
Semantics. There is no reason to waive him if you aren't going to assign him to Springfield, at least temporarily and on paper. He will be assigned to the Tbirds, at least on paper, if and when he clears.

Edit: Actually, I guess you could try to waive him now when he is more likely to clear if you think you may send him down when Toropchenko is back a few games into the season.

Most likely. But it’s not required. Teams do waive guys and don’t send them down. We may think, for example, we want him until brown is ready but figure he will clear now and might not later.

With the Injuries to Scandella and Perunovich, it's a good thing we brought back Leddy. Or we'd be running this down the Left side for the first Six months of the year.

Krug-Mikkola-Rosen/Samorukov

Depth definitely comes in handy most of the time. We probably would have been forced to make a trade and give up assets that we may have wanted to keep, maybe even overpay for someone like Chychrun. I think he would be an upgrade on Leddy, but is the difference in talent enough to justify paying 2-3 1sts/top prospects?

Not to mention that Chycrun isn’t healthy either. Which is par for course with him.

Or if not Chychrun, we would have needed another guy one way or another. And even guys like Lundkvist are getting a 1st+ so I'm glad we were able to get a solid player without giving up major assets.

Leivo and Neighbours assigned to Springfield. Blues need the roster spots for Scandella, Perunovich, and other injured players at seasons beginning before they can move them to LTIR or IR.

Yeah, I think Leivo was confirmed to be on the bonding trip they are taking, I'd assume Neighbours is as well.

if im using multiple 1sts for a d-man, it better be someone of chris pronger quality.
Too soon!

DA might keep them in SPR for a bit to accrue more cap space. Wouldn’t put it past him as that is something he would do.
That's clever, since the first game isn't until Saturday. I hadn't thought of that. Nickel and diming the Cap for trade deadline flexibility.

Here’s something interesting…

When the Blues play Columbus Saturday night, it will be Columbus’ 3rd game and the Blues 1st. Who gets the advantage? The BJ’s 3rd game in 4 days and being a B2B, or a rested Blues but only their 1st game?

Blues. The record for 3rd in 4 days, and especially the back end of a B2B is just brutal. We'd basically just need to withstand the opening rush when they are in a groove and we are finding our legs, but we should be in control from that point forward.

Are you saying you don't want to go buy an F-150 now?
