If your GM is making the team suck in purpose to tank, you should have to have Torts as the coach to atleast make the teams entertaining.. Torts has to coach Philly, Arizona, and Chicago this year

NHL has wanted this for years… goalies protested, but that was the start of this move into career years. Scoring projections will have to be redefined. Might need to be a 60+ point player in a few years to be a 2nd liner if this keeps up.

And how much money the players are asking based on points. Being a PPG player sure isn't worth as much as it used to.
That is much slower to change mostly because of RFA arbitration.

Logan Thompson with the shutout tonight. He was good last year and now 2-0 this season already.
Looks like they have a goalie. IMO he'll be Vegas' #1 goalie for many years, regardless of Lehner's situation.

It's not just that. He had ridiculous numbers in the AHL (.943 and .920). Then he had good numbers in the NHL last year and he starts the season with 2 wins including last night's shutout.
He seems like one of those goalies that pop out of nowhere in their mid 20's. Binnington style. It's early but so far he looks like what the doctor ordered for Vegas: a cheap starting goalie that absolutely gets the job done.

I’m sure he’ll be a fine goalie. But this most recent game against the Hawks does nothing at all to shape how I feel about Thompson as a goalie.
Well, I fully expected Mackenzie Blackwood to suck this year like he does every year, but I didn't expect to see the Devils just lay down defensively like that. Like we all didn't know before last night who the first coach fired would be, but geez, it might happen in the next three or four games.
On the opposite end, I really like what Don Granato has going on in Buffalo. Those players really seem to be responding to him.
