Cool to see Makar first in speed with 96, but the ratings for EA NHL are all over the place and stupidly spread across players. They may as well not have ratings.
 
Wonder if Finland will do something similar? Nuke and Georgiev wouldn't be able to play in Finland if that's the case
 
Not sure how I feel about this. I think I would either try to swap teams that are going to play to ones that don't have Russians or reschedule them back stateside.

You can't expect a team to not ice it's best team when points are on the line. That's bullshit.

I'm not going to delve into politics, but banning players due to their nationality is horseshit.

Also if I'm the NHL I'd pull the games. Either teams can use their full roster or they pull the games.

Like you said we are talking about points in the standings. These aren't preseason games. Demanding a team pull players due to nationality and not being able to field your most competitive team is not OK. If I was one of these teams involved I'd just boycott and see what the NHL says.

The borders are still open for Russians in Finland at the moment and young Russian men are flooding in here. Wonder why? I do not think Finnish government will go to full block. There are people that have part of their families in Russia in Finland. It is easy for central European countries to do that, since they do not have Russia next to them. Furthermore, civilians and athletes do not have anything to do with the war.

It's f***ed up. War brings out the worst in people, always. The games need to be moved back home if Finland goes through with the ban.
 
I'd personally be fine with the ban... but as a whole and not hockey related, anybody that wants to flee Russia right now should be welcomed with open arms.

Yeah, that's what I've assumed as well. We'll see how they deal with it here.
 
Unless every Russian player supports the war/Putin and speaks up about it frequently, banning them is a dick move.
Yeah, there's some Russian players that are used as nationalistic pawns and at least go along with it. But you're on a slippery slope trying to ban everyone based on what their government is up to.
Trust me. As an American in Sweden I'd be unfairly screwed if this standard were applied to me.
It's ridiculous.
