I don't really care about ads on jerseys. What I am against is real ads (not projections) on the ice. Those could be hard for players and goalies to find the puck on the ice and making it more dangerous for them because they could be focusing more on trying to locate it.

It's not, unless the ad is black.

Bah, they've had rinks overseas that are swathed in ads for years now, no reported issues. I'd rather see more ads on the ice than on the jerseys as time goes on.

I really want neither, but if I'm choosing... I'm going add the ads to the jersey every single time. This is a complete mess to watch games on:

I don't love that at all, but I also hate players looking like skating billboards. Thankfully I think we're a ways away from...this.

I think how far away is debatable. I'm pretty sure we are only 2-3 seasons away from new ads being added to the ice. Likely in the face-off circles.

I'd much rather they use the digital boards for ads, charge more for time and rotate the ads throughout the game and remove the ads on ice.

Ads on jerseys though...I get companies wanting their logo on the sweaters because they hope people will associate that close up of Nathan MacKinnon with the Subacool cars available at Groove Subaru. So yeah, those are probably going to to stay. At this point, I just hope the colors don't clash.

It's pretty damn sad that I remember that jingle by heart and I have never lived in Colorado. It was just played at every commercial break the entire time I had Center Ice through DishNetwork.

I was watching the latest episode of The Steve Dangle Podcast and they were talking about Calgary having the best defense in the league. They couldn’t come up with any comparables. Not even the defending Stanley Cup champions. 😂😂

Calgary was the vogue pick last year and it's carried into this year. Colorado has arguably the best defense over the last several years or more.

Does the Canadian media focuse mainly on Canadian teams (since that's their audience)? I'm not even sure I'd put Calgary's above the Rangers, let alone the Avs.

You sure you didn't mishear? I've watched the episode as well, and all they said was that bringing in Weegar makes their d core one of the best in the league, and that before Weegar was even brought in they were already in the conversation. Nothing too outrageous with that take.

I think this is what happened. I was stunned non the less. It's like he forgot about the defense that currently has the Norris and Conn Smythe winner on it.

Maybe I took what he said the wrong way. To me he glosses over significantly better defenses, it might have just been laziness on his part, I usually find Steve entertaining though.

I'd say Calgary has one of the best defenses in the league... top 5 at minimum.

Calgary's real strength though is how balanced the team is. They have a proven, established very good coach. They have a great defense that is quite easily top 5. Their center rotation is top 5. They have an elite, game breaking wing followed by a couple guys that should team up for 50-60 goals. Then a nice mix of two way play and physicality elsewhere on the wings. Then to top it off a top 15 (many argue top 10) goalie. It is a nicely balanced team.

Unpopular opinion, I think they'd beat the Avs (as currently constructed) in a seven game series.
Gotta get through Edmonton first! (Markstrom joke)

To me, Calgary clearly got better this offseason. Yeah they lost two big pieces on the wing, but they gained a top pairing defensemen (replacing a 5D), an elite wing, and a good 2C. The Avs also clearly got worse with Kadri moving on and with George being unproven. I don't know where that ends up in a matchup, but the changes lean in favor of Calgary.

Not crazy about what OTT is doing tbh.

B. Tkachuk $8.205m, J. Norris $7.95m, Stuztle $8.35mil, Chabot $8.0mil, and DeBrincat needs an extension next season too, and he'll prob make $9-9.5mil

That's going to be half of their cap tied up in 5 players, and they haven't even made the playoffs yet. Huge gamble.
