That would actually be a really good pickup for them. Cap-wise I'm not sure, but in terms of fit he's exactly their kind of player and he brings a lot of what they currently lack on the back end.
He looked a step behind for a lot of the SCF so I'm not in the least bit concerned about the Blues adding him. Rather have them use up a chunk of their capspace on him than on someone like Chychrun, while still giving up a decent package to acquire him.

Couldn’t pass this one up. Improvements in goalie equipment incl masks is of interest to me. So watched this pitch. No brainer tech. Like, thinner metal mask… for sure.

But also what got my attention… was about to click out when I saw what the fellow had in the background. No, not the air frame. But am pretty certain that is a Saab 95 (made from jets as Saab expressed in their lore). If that is his choice of auto, whether he restored it or he just is invested in the Saab technology, history, whatevs, that got my attention. Smart dude. Curious about him now.

Have had 9 Saabs. Good company.

(in case anyone is counting, 64 days left to Army football)
They made those like 40 miles from Mikko's hometown.

Is it just me, it seems stupid that the Panthers moved on from the interim coach they had last season?

During the regular season, he had that team firing on all cylinders, and in the playoffs, they ran into the same juggernaut that we ran into, and their offense crumbled as a result.

I would have tried to run it back with that guy again.

I wasn’t overly impressed with Bruno’s tactics in the postseason, but Florida has other issues that contributed to that poor showing in the playoffs.

I feel like the move to Maurice was a panic move though. Wouldn’t be the first time the Panthers did that under this ownership.

I know family is important and home country and stuff but I can't believe how many NHLers went back to Russia this summer (despite their teams highly recommending not to do it). Many of them are in Russia right now and who knows what's going to happen.
I doubt many come back tbh. I know someone that's a pro skier that lives in the US most of the year and he is stuck over there, likely to be conscripted.

It's very difficult. If you have family in Russia, you could put them in danger by not returning. Also you might never be allowed to come back home if you stay out now and that is seen as defection. So it's not just about missing home, in which case the choice would be obvious to not go back right now.

That whole situation is terrifying. Would Ovi or his family even survive if he spoke out against it? If my family was at stake, I'd probably choose to be a puppet too.
I get what you are saying but ovie and his family have been very Pro Putin. He doesnt make any attempt to distance himself from Putin. His profile picture was Putin for the longest time. He did the whole #putinteam thing as well. I think there is probably some degree of fear but I feel more strongly that he is a supporter of Putin.
