Interesting question. I'm inclined to say yes. I think Campbell is better than Binnington. And I only bring that up as I think St. Louis is the only other team with a legitimate claim for second best in the WC. McDavid scares the hell out of me and Draisaitl is a warrior. What he did on one ankle was incredible.
Thankfully they have no cap space or depth. And the defense is...woof.

As a side note, I'm astonished to see how Americans manage to use absolutely everything under the sun as a political tool. Both sides of the fence are guilty of this.

Campbell/Skinner isn't exactly fearsome. Campbell has put together a fine NHL career but there's a lot of hope in a guy that's been average at best so far. Is 5M what you pay for an average goalie? If the expectation is they ease Skinner into NHL minutes that's going to be tough.

Difference is we have an actual defense that can help them. The Oilers have:
Nurse - Ceci
Kulak - Bouchard
Broberg - Barrie
Three of those defensemen can't... well... defend. Another is a rookie. The other two are Ceci and Kulak.

No? He's abysmal in his own zone.
He was drafted as a defensemen with a great set of tools and that's what he is - a very toolsy defensemen. He can skate, he can produce offensively if playing with offensive players, and he can skate the puck out of his zone.
Ask him to defend star players and you're asking for disaster. The Oilers stupidly caved and gave him franchise d-man money when in reality he's a #3/#4.
Worst thing to happen to the Oilers was Oscar Klefbom getting career ending arthritis in his shoulder. If he stayed healthy, Nurse never would have had a great 20/21 season which resulted in that albatross contract.

See. People are getting blinded by the money when they talk about Nurse. Nurse is easily a good 2nd pairing dman on any team and a low end top pairing guy on a bad team.
He's not the #1 workhorse they thought they had but he's certainly not as bad as people paint him to be. Also him playing with Ceci, who shouldn't play first pairing minutes under any circumstance, can't help.
