I don't care for TDA as much as the next guy, but this article was clearly written by someone who is letting their political bias cloud their judgement and affect their professionalism.

Anyway, Rangers fans are out to lunch on the Georgiev lockeroom stuff, especially that guy who was arguing that TDA is well liked everywhere he goes...right, that's why he wears out his welcome so fast.
I’m far from a DeAngelo fan (have posting history to prove it), but he is well liked in locker rooms.

So it's multiple front offices that sour on him, or coaching staff, or both? Buddy's on his 5th team in 7 years
I’d say both… DeAngelo is a POS and very hard to coach. Front offices have to take in part image (though will take chances on talent quite obviously), but they always have a breaking point. He always crosses it.That’s in all sports, not just hockey.

Players though… he’s very well liked by a lot of players. There are pretty obvious reasons why, but I shouldn’t have to get into them.

Why are you cryptic on the reasons he's liked? I don't get it.

He fits a mold and type that is well liked in locker rooms. It isn’t just politically (that plays some role, but not a ton), but his other actions.

How come the Wild office didn’t get involve into getting him back? To be denied twice coming to US, sounds like the front office management didn’t do their job. They should be ready with visa etc after hearing about flyers prospect.

US immigration doesn’t work like that…

Yes I know, but they could have arrange for something. So that they don’t get into sticky mess like now.
Can’t he stay for awhile in Dubai? Until he get visa?

They aren’t US citizens so nothing for the US to do. I think a bunch of players from certain countries played this year without visas because of some covid thing. 97 was one of them, as was fiala.

Chicago is such a shitshow it shouldn't be allowed
Honestly I love it. After all the crap they did while they were winning cups, I hope they become the new arizona coyotes for the next few decades

The Canes fanbase and team seem to love Deangelo. Pretty much any time I would hear fans talking about the Canes, he was being praised heavily. I don’t think they would have traded him if they could afford to pay him. I didn’t watch them a ton despite living here this year but whenever I did he played a huge role for them, not sure how they plan to replace his puck movement

Why the f*** did he return to Russia this summer. Dumbass.
I see this take a lot and I don't get it.

When all of your family/friends are back home and you're overseas for work, you want to go back home. Especially when you'll at best get two months with them.

It's easy for us as North Americans to say "why the hell are you going to Russia?" Yet we can't wear their shoes. That is home, North America is not home.

Yup, and they obvious have better sources and information than us.

Russian athletics have been moving freely across the border up until last week. They have friends and families who probably had little issue leaving the country. In retrospect it's easy to call him a dumbass, but the war has been going on for almost half a year, most people would've thought if there were these type of restrictions it would've been in place much sooner.

From what I read and heard during his Rangers days was that he was very local in the locker room, the jester of the group if you will. He made everyone laugh and generally had a positive influence in that locker room. At times however, he got on political rants or something like that and that wasn't well received by everyone. Kinda like how that one vocal dude in your class is well liked but can be f***ing obnoxious at times. He's still going to be liked by the majority, despite if he has issues with some people. He did have issues with Georgiev and vice versa.

The situation with Georgiev wasn't the reason he was waived, it was the final straw. But one can understand how the other players felt if one of their favourite guys was gone and the quiet Georgiev remained after that incident. Probably didn't make them closer with each other I would imagine. But like I said previously, if there was a real issue between Georgiev and some important players it would've been dealt with. Rangers management has always shown they are willing to ship out players who have attitude problems. This wasn't the case.

Back to TDA, I would imagine he has toned down some of his political ranting. And if that's the case, he would still be the funny Tony that brings a laughter into the locker room, a guy who is generally well liked by his peers.
