Somebody should... he's got a good shot and is an excellent transition player. Large bouts of inconsistency and when that goes any physical edge goes with it has kept him from being a NHL regular. Some team with a need on the 3rd line should really take a chance on him (I'd say the Avs should too).

Was gonna say that description sounds like he’d be a good fit here.

I know it's early but watching these games feels like the league is going to be really wide open this year. Tampa/Colorado/Florida/Toronto all look worse. NYR/Edmonton are going to be good but nothing special. You have some young teams that are improved and teams like Vegas bouncing back. Penguins/Boston/Dallas have had good starts.

My pick would be Carolina/Calgary for the Presidents trophy.

Avs look better in October this year than they were last year. Last year Avs were bellow 500 in October and looked really bad with bad goaltending as Kuemper was trying to figure things out

Weird that the Rangers power play just isn't working right now. They looked practically automatic last season. I figured Kreider was due for a big regression but they should still be dominant on the man-advantage.

Last year the Avs were better as a team with worse goaltending. This year, they team is playing relatively poorly and the goaltending has been pretty good.

Really… goaltending and the power play are propping up a below average start.

Which is better IMO. Once the team gets going and if the goaltending remains the same, this team is gonna be really good, specially when they get Landy back and whatever they do at the trade deadline

Or worse… team may not be as good and when the goaltending regresses, the losses start.

Yes but if goaltending holds up, Landy comes back, Avs get a 2C at the trade deadline, and Nuke continues his point pace, this could be a better team than last year
Could? Yeah. Likely? Probably not. Kadri was absurd last year and any 2C is likely to not be at that level. Missing Burkie too.

Lehkonen is on pace for 50-60 points. That covers Burkie's production. I'm almost certain Sakic and MacFarland are gonna get a 2C because both Bednar and MacFarland have indicated that, if Newhook can't do the job(which right now is obvious he won't)

Who will they get? No one knows, but I don't think they would need someone that will put up 80+ points like Naz, because Nuke is on PPG pace, even if Nuke gets 70 points, and you still got ERod, Lehkonen gets 50 points, and whatever 2C they get who let's just say is a 60 point guy, Avs are a deeper team

Kadri was absurd in the regular season last year. There's no way your replacing that production. Same with Bura. Come playoff time? Your not replacing the big moments and we don't win the cup without Kadri but replacing his and Bura's playoff production is alot more doable. Bura was getting healthy scratched. Kadri didn't even go PPG.

I think the day's of Colorado being favored in every series and just dominating teams are done no matter what. Even Horvat. Horvat's not throwing up 80+ points here. He might be able to be able to score 5-6 goals/put up 13-14 points in the playoffs tho.

Perbix is really looking good for Tampa. If there is a way out of their hell for the next couple years, it is their ability to find and develop gems.

I think Horvat can easily get 70+ points playing full season on the Avs on the line with Landy and Nuke
