Lol the coyotes got kicked from their old stadium (shamed for not paying their bills) and you are comparing them to a new team not having a stadium. Hardly a fair comparison. Also I don't care about arenas for the most part but I don't want to watch this bush league stuff happening at the highest level in hockey. The NHL should have some standards in terms of conduct, is that too high of a bar?
The Chargers weren't a new team and none of that changes the fact an NFL team played on a field on a college campus, much like the Coyotes.

Any states/cities around Colorado that could get a team?

Nah. The two most likely options if things fall through in Tempe would be Houston or Kansas City. Kansas City already has a new-ish venue ready for a team (Sprint Center) but no owner. I don't think the arena that hosts the Rockets in Houston has the ability to convert to hockey, so that could be an issue, and I have no idea if that Fertita guy has a desire to own an NHL club anymore.

I'd personally love for Quebec City to get a team again, but I don't think the league is excited about that prospect at all.

If you are talking about the Toyota Center in Houston it most certainly can support ice hockey. I watched an AHL game in that arena a few years back.

Oh, okay, I stand corrected.

Regardless, the NHL ain't to the point where they'll give up on the Coyotes yet...but I think in due time, they will be.

Why do people assume Matthews will go to Arizona? Dude will prioritize being paid big, then winning. Arizona won’t be able to match other teams in either area.
Even if they can lure Matthews. Will they automatically start winning and drawing crowds? Not sure. And if they do, what about after Matthews prime, if they start to suck again? Will they still be a super robust franchise?

The Matthews silver bullet strategy is laughable.

Watching the Bruins Wings game, don't get the whole Soderblom hype. The dude is massive but slow as hell. The wings got stuck in their zone for a while because Soderblom couldn't get to pucks quick enough to get it out of the zone

Also on the arena discussion... the Canadian outcry will get even stronger when the Flames are moved within the next 2 seasons.
That would be a terrible move by the league. Flames have an amazing fan base. Orders of magnitude better than the self proclaimed hockey state. I went to game 5 of SCF last year you wouldn’t even have known there was a game that day walking around downtown. Avs have an unreal team and their support doesn’t Come anywhere near the flames. Can only imagine some of the other American cities as the Avs are actually a lot better off than the majority in USA.
