However, Kaprizov’s exemption expired June 30, according to one source familiar with the situation. If that’s true, regardless of the accusation that he bought a military ID five years ago, Kaprizov could be required to fulfill his military obligations.

I've been getting pretty excited for the draft, even the top few guys know one knows what order they are going to go in and it just goes crazy after that.
For so many years I remember reading up and following prospects since December
or us having some prospects we were waiting to make an impact.
We really gotta start hitting later in the draft. Probably a 30/70 chance we miss a late first round pick, and I have low confidence after that even more so. Our pro scouting has really stepped it's game up though so that's fortunate.
I'm excited to see ben meyers next year to be fair.

Terrible contract.
Players in their 30's that have a huge season during their contract year are the biggest trap and GM's fall in them all the time.

Does it matter? Letang gets security and Penguins get a guy that has honestly looked like a top 10-15 defensemen the last few seasons at a severely discounted cap hit.
Pittsburgh is going for it the next 2/3 years and that'll be all she wrote for the Crosby era. Then they'll tank after that and Letang will either go on LTIR or ride it out on a bad hockey team.
It’s the way to continue with a core in a flat cap. Everyone knows Letang finishes that contract on LTIR.
So he will walk away from the contract after three seasons for example? Is that possible btw?
In 3 or 4 seasons he’ll have a ‘back injury’ that he can’t play through
